I have stayed in ibis budget 7 months ago in Paris
and I found out that ibis is going three different kinds
    green, red and blue
there was no colours last year in united kingdom
and we did stay previously and it was ok for budget holiday.
(I paid extra for the Paris one believing ibis is well known chain)
When we entered the room we were shocked
it was tiniest room we have ever seen
there was a double bed with a single bed on top
we are a family with one toddler (which got serious health problems)
we had to put him the above bed and the hotel put the air conditioner full on at night from the ceiling.
my son practically freezing when we woke up next morning
floors were disgusting, with 2 step you do get full black under feet.
bathroom (I cant even call a bathroom) was seemed like laminate all over with fixed shower on top.
we had stayed there 3 nights and would never ever step on a Ibis hotel ever again.
Not in other country, not here
Even if they offer free nights I wouldnt step on them
This was the most horrendous experience in my whole life
( I have stayed in very basic b&b`s to luxurious hotels)

and dont think that above was the only reasons
there was so many problems,so rude staff,etc..

I would not even think of sleep in a bed like that. Did you have an HIV test after?

As we all have good quailty cameras on our mobile phones. I would take a large number of photos and then ask them how much would they be will to pay for me not to send them to the Sun.

zaax, why would the OP need an HIV test? He didnt do anything to warrant one or come into contact with anything that would warrant one.

OP, I think, given that you didnt complain at the time, then a 50% reduction of your bill is fair

Ibis is a budget hotel chain - you can hardly be surprised at small rooms and basic bathrooms. I'm fairly sure their website shows the rooms with a 'bunk' as third bed.

There is never an excuse for dirty rooms though.

I actually work for a large hotel (although it is not Ibis). I personally think that a 50% refund is a pretty good offer.
Also to be fair to them, our linen company is normally pretty good but there has been occasions where linen does come through crumpled, with hair, holes or sometimes splattered with blood (or mud – which is more likely). It is always clean though; some things are very difficult to get out. Obviously the Ibis housekeepers shouldn’t of put the linen on your bed and should of sent it back as a reject but hopefully it might at least make you feel slightly better about the situation.

White I think a full refund would be more appropriate, I think 50% is reasonable and probably the best that you are going to get.

I don't think that you'd get anything by suing them, for example.
So you are reliant on a goodwill gesture. Which is going to be pretty thin on the ground if you have already said you won't be using them again.

I know it is a budget hotel
The thing is I have stayed in Ibis previously couple of years back and it wasnt like this.
Paris one didnt have any images at all.
We have been told that red ibis was one upgrade and green was the luxurious one.
We went to see the red one and the only different thing was there was colourful duvet and bed sheet.
    Everything was the same.
green one didnt even show the room to us.
we had a 3 day break in Paris and 1.5 day was looking around trying to find another hotel.
there was no place so we didnt have any choice to but stay at Ibis.
We paid for around 50 pound per night for blue one.
red one was 80 pound and green one was 140-150 pound if I remember correctly.

I have found cheaper hotels but decided to go with Ibis because of the name and we previously stayed in UK in the hotel.

Issue is not being a budget
Issue is how they are operating
It was normal hotel all the same until last year.
Last year they have branded to go different three kinds.

Staff was so rude we just couldnt believe.
On our first night when we arrived we have given a room and she basicly throw the keys to us saying the room is this floor this number.
we went to see the room and come back saying that room was way too small. (Small bedroom in my house is bigger than that room, which only my son sleeps)

Because of my sons health condition we said we were worried it wasnt suitable for us and would it be possible to change the room.
She said "all the rooms same I cant give you any other room"
After I try to talk more (believe me I am very polite,if my husband was talking we would be in police station in no time)
She said manager was out and when manager comes back she will tell him. She told us to wait in the lobby.
    We waited in the lobby.
After she has spoken to us some guy went behind the reception like 2 minutes later.
We have waited more than half an hour and I went to desk again to ask if manager is coming because we were very tired after driving all the way down. She said that was the manager.
during half an hour we were waiting in the lobby(lobby means just front of the desk one sofa) manager was in there ,he saw us but didnt even ask why we are waiting, she didnt tell even tell him.

oh ,this is only the start.

Budget doesnt mean that we are going to sleep in freezing, dirty room with only one thin pillow and put up with rude staff. If I didnt trust Ibis from United Kingdom I would have gone cheaper option.
Cheaper hotel wouldnt be worse than this. All we wanted to just sleep at night and shower in the morning.
We stay in travelodge over here and I am perfectly happy with their staff, rooms, beds and baths.
They are budget hotel as well.

There were blood splatters and other stains on the duvet

Depending how old the blood was there are many diseases that can be transmitted by fresh(ish) blood.

Parisians being rude? Well I never.

As far as the OP, take the 50%. It's a very reasonable offer.

Ibis Budget is what used to be the Etap hotels - I stayed in the one in Leeds when it was an Etap and doesnt sound like it has got much better since then - reminded me of student halls!!

To the OP there are now quite a few Premier Inns dotted around Leeds city centre I would reccommend these any day over the Ibis Budget - and if you are staying during the week you can usually find a £30-40 room in one of them - however friday/saturday prices shoot up!!! Oh and the Holiday Inn Express at the Royal Armories is usually relatively cheap (and only about 5 mins walk from the Ibis if you want to be at that end of town!)

If you have a car, the Premier Inn Leeds City Centre is good as the car park is free. Its a 15 min walk to the shops, 10 to the station. I would recommend requesting a room overlooking the car park and basketball courts (the front and the 2nd to last photo) rather than the back which backs onto a main A road.

I stayed there in mid Sept and my room was on the front, the first floor 3 window from the middle bit. Did not hear the road at all.

There is also one opposite the Leeds Arena. It may be noisy as again its on a busy road, if there is a concert on and the huge building behind is student accommodation. Plus if there is a big name performing at Leeds Arena that night, the prices may go up!
