  • I've had this happen to me before in a burger place too - within seconds of asking for a receipt it was like they'd brought out the emergency response unit - almost people diving at pieces of litter, wiping things that didn't need wiping and everybody smiling at me!

Don't normally post on here, but had to laugh at this. I haven't done any ms, but always ask for a receipt, now I know why they go all smiley when I do. :rotfl:

    Sorry to crash.

  • I used to do MS for the "burger" company, now if I ever visit I always ask for a receipt. I have also passed this info onto my kids. It was very funny watching the staff run around after my kids on our last visit. It totally confused the staff, who in the right mind would offer a balloon to a 6 foot 1 inch 14 year old.
I would urge everyone when visiting this chain to ask for a receipt, its worth it for the comedy show that follows.

....But not for the extra 'special sauce' you get in your burger... _pale_

Tip: always choose something that you can see on the rack behind the staff and keep your eyes on it until it's on your tray!

  • I have noticed when I have done burger shops that they now have chip and pin why don't GAP enable us to use our cards then we will get a receipt. I think that if I have any problems like that, that I might suggest that in one of my reports.

I think paying by card may be still a bit suspicious if you did this for just a small ammount. The thing I thought was strange on my recent job was that he had produced the receipt anyway even though he then asked me about it. I'm not sure what he would have done if I had said no. I think they do usually give receipts but they are just checking to see if you want it ie are you a MS. Not sure why on mine as it was a drive through so there was no 'show' for me!

I also often ask for a receipt to keep them on my toes even if not shopping ;) but now you mentioned the 'sauce' issue I might have to reconsider that!

Only prob with taking your Lo with you, is that you cant order them anything, as you can only order for yourself off their set menu. My children are old enough to order their own food, so often follow me in and then we sit together (and also watch the show the staff then put on:rotfl: !!!)

I also always ask for a receipt now, even when im not on a shop, much better service - i dont worry about 'special' sauce, normally they have already given me my meal before asking for the receipt, so the panic doesnt set in until then!!!

I would prefer to pay by card (easier for the receipt) because i have a Tesco card, so it earns me extra points, so quite often ive paid for something small with it.
  • If you do the Gap coffee shops, you DO have to pay by card, and use the data from the card receipt. And this is only for £1.95! :D
