Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys? (Part Two)

Am a bit annoyed now, since Grassroots's new system came in...
I trusted the "we'll email you when a job's available" thing initially but have just logged on to find there are 2 jobs that "have been offered to me" but are now unavailable.
This means that it looks like they're going to do what GFK do and email you when they have some crappy job sitting there and noone will accept it!
So this then means that I now have to have another tab open on my internet browser all day so I can keep refreshing and not lose out on more jobs!
I preferred getting an email from them - at least then I didn't know if I'd missed any!
Anyone else a little miffed with the new system?0 -
I've also noticed that about GfK, I must admit I'd prefer the emails.....they seemed to be allocated quickly that way so god knows why they changed this!!0

Im the same with grass roots now. Missed a few good jobs that i could have done because i was thinking they would send me an email.
I also completed my first assignment for them since the changeover and it seemed to take forever to express the paperwork. Im sure it didnt take that long last time!!

I have been mystery shopping since March, earned £200 profit after taking away my expenses and travel costs.
I have not yet paid any tax or contacted the tax office. I want to go above board now so I have no worries.
Is it too late to sort it out with them and avoid a fine.
I contacted the tax office a year after I had started mystery shopping and they never said anything.£33 (£10 a day challenge)0 -
I am just completing my tax return and need help. Most of the jobs that I do have a re-embursement fee and a fee for the job. Do I have to put the re-embursement fee down on my tax return. Also, is it just the orange part of the tax return that I have to fill in. There is no room on the form to put all the jobs down and what they were for or are you supposed to do that in the additional information part. Any help gratefully appreciated.£33 (£10 a day challenge)0

No idea about the orange form as I do mine online.
'Reimbursement' is put down on my form as reimbursed expenses or something like that. Bear in mind however that for some companies an element of the reimbursement will be pay - for example, GAP always pay the same amount for a pizza visit which may actually cost you less. The difference should be in your pay column. Then you subtract your other expenses from your pay column before declaring your profit.
Basically what I did last year, from memory, was just to tell them the total I had earned from all jobs (which meant all the reimbursements and pay) and the total expenses I had paid out (which was all the expenses involved in buying the things I was reimbursed for, plus expenses on other things like petrol and printer ink).

when the tax return asks you for your company name, do I just put my own name down there?£33 (£10 a day challenge)0

Yes, or leave it blank, or make one up if you want to!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Yes, I totally agree with you. I too was sitting waiting for an email from grassroots and decided by chance to log on...only to find that I had missed 3 jobs.
I also find with GFK, that there emails come down too late. Cant remember the last time that I replied to an email and actually FOUND a job waiting !!
The best MS companies that I work for are the ones who phone and dont rely on websites.0 -
