How To Make Your Assignment Sound Really Attractive - hints for mystery shopping companies.

You can go alone (to this sordid venue). If female, please take a male companion.:eek::eek:

Discretion is all. Let's just say it's one of the better companies, who treat you decently and deduct tax at source ;)

    Hi there

i know most of you gab on here about MS but i was wondering if anyone has done proof reading and if it's any good at paying?

Also, do you know any companies who recruit online?

Just been catching up with this thread as been to sunny (fortunately!) France.

I think some people obviously take the whole MS thing more seriously than others. I guess if it's your main source of income then you probably regard it as your job, so are maybe a bit more cautious about who you tell about what.

I just do it for a bit of fun, pocket money and free meals out, so am fairly laid back about it and I do tell people who I MS for and which shops/restaurants/bookies etc., and don't mind sharing this info with others.

I wouldn't necessarily be that bothered if I never did another one, so maybe that's why I'm fairly chilled and regard it all as a lark.

I guess we've all got a choice about who we tell and whether we want to break the "rules" or perhaps I'm just one of those people who see rules as there to break!

There are people out there who do this work and it is their sole source of earnings coming into the household. They don't "probably regard it as their job", it is their job!

You might find it a lark and be willing to break rules as it's nothing but pocket money to you. To others is it what pays for the roof over their heads and the food on their table.

You're lucky enough not to need income from this work, others are not so lucky.

Regarding it as a lark spoils it for everyone. A slap dash attitude does not produce a professional report, and sharing confidential information about clients can result in contracts being lost. The rules are there for a reason, not to break. Please don't spoil it for those who rely on the money from MS work, just so they can pay their way in life.

Well Josie, you should be sacked by all ms companies who use you. I assume as you only do it for a lark that you don't put any efforts into your reports. Presumably when it says you must do this alone you take your friends to show them how easy it is. MSing is an important market research tool for the thousands of major companies who use it. It is not 'a lark', the vast majority of us who do this take it very seriously. I am one of many who do it full time and I do recruit people, but not all and sundry. I only invite people I think will treat this seriously and provide detailed and accurate reports. It seems you on the other hand couldn't care less and are just taking ms companies for a ride. I am disgusted with your attitude towards it.

Gosh, I think a couple of you above are being rather precious.

I take my MS seriously and do excellent reports (which is why I get a phone call almost every day offering me extra and enhanced work). However, it is a lark. Think about it - it is generally at less than the minimum wage, and yet they are recruiting graduates + to do the work.

I for one don't have any qualms about telling friends I do it, and sharing funny stories with them. There is no chance these stories will get back to the coffee shops and other places I MS (although I did do one pub once where a friend lived in the locality and knew why the service was so bad :D)
