I've only ever done bank MSing with a false name for GFK, and have never had any problems - but they've always been for a bank I'm not with.

I'm glad I haven't worked for the Belgian company.
Hope you get this sorted soon catwoman. :)

I've always found the Belgian lot OK to deal with - as I implied before, I think this sort of chaos happens because 'how things work' works very differently here in the UK from what goes on in mainland Europe.

Catwoman - I would be amazed if they were anything but kind to you, once the police tell them you are a MS. Don't forget, that actually makes you a bit of a VIP within the BS :D (Do let us know if anything else happens!)

  • Sorry if this has been asked before...but with regards to tax, I have been doing MS since November 2006, registered myself as self-employed and do work for some companies that pay tax for you. I have had the paper copy of the tax form through for those companies that I am self-employed to, when does this form (or the online copy....which seems more preferable) have to be done by???? I have seen a couple of different dealines for different reasons????? Just don;t want a fine letter coming through the letter box!!

For tax year ending 31st March 2007, the online deadline is 31st January 2008 - but you are strongly advised against leaving it until the last minute! :D

You will find, if you want to file online, that you do have to go online in advance and register - some of the info you will need to complete your return then has to be sent to you in the ordinary post (IIRC and they haven't changed it this time round).

Just to add to that, if you complete the tax return by 30th September 2007 the tax man will calculate the tax you owe. If you do it after 30th Sept, you have to do the calculations yourself.

They will also work out your Class 4 NI contributions if applicable too.
Here I go again on my own....

I do know that if they are grey you can't accept them. I wonder if it's a glitch on their IT system (job has been accepted but for some reason has not come off the 'jobs available' list).

Why don't you ask them through the queries facility? Tell them a few of us from an online forum want to know and you've been elected the spokesperson :D

Do you mean when every other job in a long list is grey? I thought that's just to make it easier to read
