Going slightly off track.....Has anyone else been doing surveys? I've done a few successfully but get pretty annoyed with the ones where you answer anout 15 questions before they tell you they've already got enough answers but thanks anyway. What a cheek!0

I agree about the surveys. I also think it's about time someone took a survey company to court for not paying the minimum wage. (Quote - answer this survey and earn £0.51. It will take about 35 minutes)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Excuse my ignorance but what is an MSPA?We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

MSPA stands for Mystery Shopping Providers Association which is the biggest in Northern America. You can take a test which is now also available for the European market. After passing the test (for which you have to pay) you get a "silver certificate". It apparently works wonders in Northern America ... but personally, here in the UK, I haven't noticed a difference.
Most of the companies in the British market don't seem to be interested in the certificate anyway. I've entered mine on the BARE website and some other sites but don't get more jobs because of it.0 -
After you have been with BARE for a while, they will invite you to take a 'Bare Basics' qualification, which entitles you to self-assign some jobs if your grade is good enough.
They also offered me a Motorcycle qualification, which I took out of idle curiosity and even managed to pass! Bit of a miracle as I know little about the machines, and most of the questions use US terminology which AFAIK is never used here.....Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
FAO NEWBIE SHOPPERS!!
Thought I'd let you know if you hadn't seen it already (this is aimed at the MSers the other day suggesting a list should be compiled of MSing companies) the first post has been resurrected - this has a nice handy list of the companies and also a little bit about tax, too.
I stick to my own advice though and pick one company to start with and try it out first as some companies have really tough assignments and would not be good for a newbie IMHO....

I'm really fed up now waiting for assignments from Grassroots. There have only been 4 in the past two weeks and I missed those!! Is there still plenty of work in other areas?0
