    Hi ethel!:hello:
How are you angel? How did the weekend go hun?
    quote=EthelBloggs;5474575
Thanks Tiffy.. I don't have any painkillers :o Normally I'm not in too much pain, just unsteady and slow, I think it's cos that conference was a lot harder going than I expected and I overdid things a bit, so it took a few days to recover.
I hope he was worth it hun!!!:D You're like a little tornado ethel. Put your feet up angel and make sure you get spoiled a little.;)
Hmmm.. Our borough CAB closed down in March.. I only know because I was trying to contact the lady who had helped me fill the forms in for my daughter to let her know the outcome and couldn't get thru, so I checked online and found they've closed down. With my form, I could remember how she did it and copied her method.. hopefully it'll be ok *crosses everything* I think I should hear in August or so.
Unfortunately hun, a lot of CABs get a donation from local coucils - which is ironic really since that's who CAB usually end up fighting with! Our local office had to close partially because the local council dropped their donation by about half. There were other problems too though.
If you phone the next nearest one, they may be able to do home visits or like they do here, they may have set up a satellite 'office' in a few places, including in a town arcade and a community centre.
With so many empty properties around the UK, you think they'd let such charities move in free of charge - it would take a lot of pressure off the council and social services who end up taking the brunt of cases when a CAB office closes!:o But that would mean being sensible, wouldn't it?
    Just a thought hun.;)
Daughter has been discharged from hospital.. we got no warning at all, she turned up on my mum's doorstep yesterday with all her luggage and a taxi, this is after me saying at the CPA meeting last week that things need to go slowly and not be rushed, for all of us to adjust to one another again. I'm bloody furious! Anyway, her consultant came down today to see us and agreed that she should remain as a patient and have extended home leave visits at first, i.e. long weekends gradually building up.
Business as usual then hun! DD's consultant sounds like an angel. They don't even send lower risk patients home straight away - they do it on a sliding scale.
We;ve also got drama on the Resident's Association. Our maintenance worker and admin worker dont get on very well.. our admin worker is on leave this week and threatening to go sick cos she doesn't want to work with him anymore. Maintenance man is threatening to walk out if we go and do an inventory of the equipment and tools in his lock-up, which he should have done as it's in his contract  Cue many phone calls to ACAS to try and sort it all out, plus letters reminding them of their contractual obligations etc etc etc.. it's horrible cos we're a small co-op and bad feeling has an effect on everyone. I'v also got to find time to write a report about the conference to present to the residents at our next GM. !!!!!! why do I involve myself in this stuff?
Because you're good at it. I can't imagine a happy ethel just sitting back and watching the world go by.;) That's why you can't just rest with your feet up hun - and if you do get that chance then you're on here! :D;)
Anyway, enuff about me, how's our tiffy? All set for your trip? xxxxx/quote
    .....cough, cough, ahem.....anyway, that's enough about me!:D
I hope you're feeling better angel and I'm thinking of you. Take care sweetheart. hug.gif

    Hi andi!:hello:
It's good that there are people like you around to look out for those who can't do it themselves hun.:T
How would they have felt if he'd stepped out into traffic and gotten seriously hurt or caused an accident? People can be so quick to judge.:o
I think the important thing to remember is that there are some wonderfully kind people out there who will help if someone's in need.

We all need a guardian angel.hug.gif

Hi everyone hope your all ok
Just stopping by, been into the nearest village today. went to the bank. did the shopping, but forgot to get my meds   ,
Oh I also have a interview tomorrow for a job  , dont think ive had an interview for ages, dunno what to do what to wear etc...I have been on the phone and Writing applications all week, I have another interview on tuesday  , god knows what will happen lol. So any good luck vibes much appreciated :), i dont know if now is the right time for me to work, but i need to keep busy and need to be around people, before i got too confined to home, so time for a challenge :D

Tonight im splitting up with my bf :(, not a decision that i took easily but we dont have that spark, and he dont treat me quite right. He is a lovely guy, we just not compatible. And its not fair on him to just stay with him for the sake of being with him and having someone there, thats just stringen him along and thats not fair on him either. I think we will still stay friends if he wants. Tho tbh i got no idea what to say, how to be or what to do tonight. Ah well im sure it will be ok.
I made my parents dinner last night, seemed to go well which was good, I made a lovely creamy bacon pasta, absolutely gorgeous lol.
Ok better go get ready for tonight
    Take care everyone

How did the job interview go hun? I was keeping my fingers crossed for you.;) Good luck for the interview tomorrow angel!:T
Sorry the bf didn't work out angel. You did the right thing rather than stringing him along rose as you said. It seems like you're all right on your own for now from what you say rose and I know you'll have been thoughtful and tactful to him.;)
It seems that everything's getting right back on track for you angel.:T You hang in there.hug.gif

    Hi andi!
I can relate to that hun - the things they put the ol' Tiffster through!
What have they done to you now angel?
I'd stay away from them if I were you hun - they bring nothin' but trouble!:D ;)

I'm sure you've got your own way of dealing with the bad ones but I find this method to be most effective... (don't look if you're easily offended! :o )

    Hi guys!

Thank you so much for all your encouragement and support - it means the world to me, really it does :A

Well, I got round. Not exactly speedy gonzales: 1 hour, 17 minutes and 55 seconds... but not bad for an old girl:D Was a bit warm out there to begin with, but a breeze got up about halfway round which was very welcome. A big thank you to everyone who sponsored me - I raised around £1,000 for male cancer awareness, so a good cause :T

Feeling a bit knackered now though:o Reckon I'll be needing an early night! But thanks once again - you're all brilliant. (Gillette hun - pm me if you want to inspect me blisters;) :D )

    Love you all, :grouphug:
    Sazzyxxxxxxxxxxxxx

well done Saz,you deserve a treat of ........ a stash of Blue Smarties ;)

I am good thank you Tiff.

DS is doing well too thank you. He has a couple of days at his new school in July and I think he's slightly nervous but I'm sure he's not the only one. He's just grateful that he got in and not going to the other school.

Do you know my DS uses Lynx!! He's 11!!

Am starting to go running again tonight. Now the depression is better I now have the energy to start again.

When are you off galavanting on your holiday?
Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get ;);)
