Don't give him a shovel. A wallpaper scraper would be better, and then send him to my house :) Everyone else is welcome too!

Well, my sister's just bought a new flat, so I've been having a "fun" time stripping wallpaper and painting. The previous occupants had woodchip wallpaper which they painted over. But after 2 days we've nearly got the living room sorted, so that's good.

Hi, popping in after a long time.

Only twice that I've been depressed to the point of almost causing personal injury but fortunately they were only short-term.

First was around April this year, just everything getting on top of me, feeling like I couldn't keep up and things sliding, lathargic and basically uninterested in life and everything in it. It affected finances, education, the lot which made it worse. Luckily this lifted as soon as the project I was working on ended, and I was able to clear the backlog and get back on an even keel.

Second was this tuesday. I've stopped the painkillers I've been taking for the last 10 years (which had also contributed to the lathargy mentioned above), and the kickback just sent me nearly to the edge. It was really scary the thoughts I was having, both in their theme and detail. I was randomly crying all over the place for no reason, etc, etc. fortunately things improved over the next few days as me and my body got used to the new regime.

My dad had depression for about a year, that was scary as I was just 14-15 at the time and away from home for 10 months of the year. The whole thing with parents not wanting to worry me actually made things worse by making me worry even more.

Luck to all, and may anyone still suffering from this truly debilitating condition find the strength and support to see it through.

    H.

I cant comment fully on your post patwa atm, however i will advise you not to just instantly come off any medication as it can cause withdrawl symptoms. See your GP before you take any actions like that.

  • Just a note on the QB thing, obviously something has gone on in the past, and certainly I've been party to some of it "kicking off" if you like, whether you are on Ethel's side or QB or whatever, this thread isn't the place to air dirty washing so to speak.

Ethel has said her piece and she has done that for her reasons, which I understand as It sounds as though she has held her p!ss for sometime over the issue. If she has the proof that she says, then an approach to the moderators would be a wise move, pestering and sleaze is the same whether done physically in a bar or virtually over a computer.

I now consider it the end of the matter, and I dont wish to see anymore comments about this matter.

If anyone wishes to discuss it with the parties, then the PM function is there for a reason, the thread isn't the place for it, especially since no one except Ethel has the proof, knowledge and PM's from others.
