Which ISA

Hi

I cant decide which HSBC ISA to do.
I want an HSBC one but theres a choice of

Cash E-ISA
or
Variable Rate Cash ISA

(sorry its not letting me post the html links for the ISAs on HSBC site)

Both are 1.60% AER (1.59% tax-free) to me.

With the variable does that include the bonus? ie the 1.4% is included in the 1.60%.
also would "variable" mean the rates change?

Would it be better for me to open a Cash E-ISA.??

thanks

Shirl

Why do you want an HSBC one?

You do realise that there are better rates out there with other banks/building societies?

Having a current account with HSBC its easier for me to transfer online anything over. Did have a nationwide with a book but as no building societies or banks are near me, or near work, it just be easier. Plus nationwides one for instant access was very low, lower than hsbc. Really HSBC for the convenience. Can put £10 or any amount in there when I can anytime.

You will have to pay dearly for the "convenience" to have all your accounts with one bank. Nothing personal, this is true for everybody.

Do you do all your shopping in the same shop, or do you go round and buy things where you like them best?

Same applies to ISAs, or any other financial products.

Look around for best cash ISA rates. And may be even compare current accounts, to see whether you are getting the best deal where you are.
