Vodaphone admitted fraud on my account ... however

I've read a few similar stories on here about vodaphone customers having their accounts being subject to fraud and I fell foul of this too.

However I have not had a successful outcome despite being in possession of a letter from VP admitting fraud on my account and saying that any charges will be cancelled. This has not been the case and after trying for weeks to get to speak to somebody without being passed around the whole of India, VP have now assigned my case to a debt collection agency. I am absolutely fuming and just wondered how to go about sorting this out. I have informed the collection agency that I am in receipt of the letter from VP and have been told that they will get back to me within 7 to 10 days.

Does anybody have any advice?

    I guess you exhausted Voda's formal complaint procedure.
    Ombudsman is you next stop then.
    And if you win finally, make sure they clean up your credit history that they are likely to have befouled.
  • What do you mean by fraud? Has someone taken an additional contract or upgrade or something?

    Thats a case for the ombudsman... google 'ombudsman services communication'. Fill out their online complaints form, make it as clear as possible and don't ramble on, clearly summarise the issue - with bullet points if you can. Enter dates of what happened and when.

    If Vodafone pass it on to a credit agency you will receive a bad mark on your credit file. You should do 1 of two things;
    Pay what they ask (if you can afford it) to stop any notes being put on your credit file then ask the ombudsman for a refund from Vodafone OR make sure you tell the ombudsman you would like Vodafone to take the notes off your credit file.

    Hi mystikori,

    It's disappointing to read about your experience but thanks for making me aware of it.

    To enable me to get this looked into further could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

    All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website.

    To ensure that it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line and once our automated reply arrives update the thread with your email reference number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

    Lee
