With the amount charged for protecting no claims how did I know it would be a company I have never heard of!

Pay the admin fee and move on, it could be money wisely spent.

Chaucer that was a lucky escape!

Did you get the quote emailed through to you by the comparison site?

Does the comparison site show the quote and if so does it show protected no claims bonus?

Yes I got the standard email telling me

    Your details and best price

    Name: xxxxxxxxx
    Cover type: Comprehensive

    Vehicle:xxxxxx

    Best price provider:BG Insurance

    Price:£549.72

Now when i click on the "Buy Now" it takes me to "Comparethemarket" and after signing in it gives me a new list of quotations from different companies, and the no claims protection at top is checked, but the new price is £667.75

After reading them reviews, I am seriously beginning to panic, i paid in full using credit card so i didn't incur credit charges, and paid the sum off the credit card.

If you log into Comparethemarket and view your quote details for all companies does it show protected

Did you notice that some of the reviewers of BG Insurance have exactly the same problem as you?

You either need to cancel or send BG a letter by recorded delivery headed "Official Complaint". They have to properly investigate the complaint and report back to you within 8 weeks. If you're still not happy you can go to the Ombudsman.

Take screen shots of the relevant parts of the quotes on the comparison site and anything from bg

I have email BG insurance as i was advised earlier on the phone to them advising them that I wish to cancel the policy with immediate effect and look forward to receiving a full refund of the payment I have made. Hope I hear off them tomorrow with a satisfactory reply. I feel such a fool now

found this "CANCELLATION: We hope you are happy with the cover this policy provides. However, you have the right to cancel
it within 14 days of receiving the policy documents or the start of the policy, whichever is later,
without giving any reasons. If that happens, we will refund your premium, first deducting a charge
for the cover provided from the beginning of the contract until the policy is cancelled."
