Am I entitled to Flight Delay Compensation???

Hi there

On Monday 8th April 2013 I was due to fly back to Leeds from Faro (Algarve) at 12.10pm but we didn't depart until 15.40pm. The flight was scheduled to arrive at Leeds at 15.20pm but we actually landed at 18.19pm ( I got these stats from flightstats). So we actually arrived 2 hours and 59 minutes late and as I understand you can only claim if it's longer than 3 hours!! :mad:

Also I am led to believe that the reason we were delayed was due to a passenger being taken ill on the flight from Leeds to Faro on the plane that we were suppose to be having so it had to stop in France and then be rescheduled back into the flight system, leading to the knock on delay of our flight. Does this class as an 'exceptional circumstance'?

Any advice would be gratefully received!!

You will fall at the first hurdle - your flight was not three hours late.

Your understanding is correct: you have no claim.
