Success!!! Our family of eight received a refund of £347 each for our 8-9 hour delay in may 2011. I just filled out the basic template letter on MSE from Nov 2012, and apart from a little bit of duplicate form filling for each passenger, it was easy! We received £2776 back a few weeks ago. YAY!!

We've just had a rejection for a mechanical breakdown in 2008 for a 20 hour delay to Sanford. Monarch have said it was extraordinary circumstances. What was the reason for your delay? Any help in getting ours appealed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks0

There is no "appeal" - except to the law. And if it is an ordinary mechanical breakdown, you should have a very good case.0 -
Thanks for that. I had a feeling it would be the case. We are going to try the CAA first and then take it through small claims court.0
