    Thanks losbert
I saw these padlocks on the tripneeds site myself yesterday as well.
I think £4.69 for a 4 dial tsa lock is pretty good. Most places charge this for 3 dial locks.
Shame my holidays are over the for year

Haven't seen this or used it myself, but will be checking it out in August when I go on my hols. Seems very secure to me.

I use cable ties, if someone really wants to get in, they will anyway, if someone needs to get in ,they can without damaging the case (I always carry spares in hand luggage) and they would probably take longer to remove than those cheapo locks that come with most cases (one key fits all!)
  • If the haNDLERS WANT YOUR STUFF THEY'LL JUST SMASH OFF THE LOCK. bEST THING TO USE IS A GOOD QUALITY STEEL KEYRING.
THEY HAVE'NT THE TIME TO FIDDLE THESE OPEN AND NEED PLIERS TO CUT THEM OFF.

If flying out of or into John Lennon airport dont check in any luggage whatsoever. Its not just the baggage handlers, they're all on the rob over there

The luggage handlers theme tune........in true liverpool fashion......."I,m looking through you,"..........or..."Every little thing",........"it dont come easy".............but it can be " as free as a bird,"........"tell me what you see".........."we can work it out" (of the suitcase)....feel free to add as many John Lenon or Beatles hits to this list.............

Or those classic airport anthems........."Christmas time is here again".................leading to...."Helping me to help myself"........and finishing your shift with...."How do you sleep"............

Or how about those Cilla Black classics "Anyone who had a heart (in a suitcase)", "you've lost that lovin' feelin' (and my bl**dy suitcase)" and "love's just a broken heart (shaped padlock)".....

Actually, UK customs/security have been adept for years at getting into cases without actually breaking the locks. Especially the locks included in the catches on Samsonite-type hard-shell cases.

I had my bag inspected on the way back from the US earlier this year, with a TSA lock - they left a little note inside the case saying that it had been inspected.

Considering how low-cost these items are now, I can't see any reason not to use them if you are going to the US (or indeed either Canada or the Caribbean). I've got a mixture of different makes now, and they all seem fine to me. These days I'm more worried about the loops on the zips shattering and the lock falling off... I've had that happen on two bags already.
