Flight delay compensation

If the original airline has now gone into administration, does this mean the claim has no chance??? We did not fly on the original ailine as a alternative plane was ultimately provided after 7 hours. It would seem not to be at all fair to make any claim against the substitute airline as the delay was not of their own making. is there any claim therefore against the tour operatot ( tui )?????? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your claim is against someone (a Company) that no longer exists.

I struggle to see why people find this hard to come to terms with?
