I know custardly, but the point is too, if u have a carp postie, you have a carp postie. And no one defends posties on here more than me. But when you get one like that, it's so frustrating :wall: So probably what gets people frustrated with RD is that so many posties aren't bothering to get a signature, which is mega frustrating as a customer.

My dd had one like that in her last address, so much mail went missing. I've got the same postie. Everything goes through the letterbox apart from SD. I usually call whoever has sent the RD up to tell them to claim for it not having a signature. IB have been trying to catch him for a while, but the usual of people spotting IB about and they start texting each other to let everyone know.

I never knew why people could moan about their posties until we had this one. I could honestly shake the sh.. from him.

Our last postie was a godsend. New one is just... well, young-ish lad, cap very 'ghetto' style or whatever they call it, very fresh prince-esque, and must think he's quite swag.

We constantly get mail for a house on another street, which doesn't happen all the time, but they seem to get quite a lot of mail so I can only assume he dumps it with us when they're the only ones down their road who have any that day, to let us do his job for him.

We've had post go missing, post being months late (which RM know nothing about), RD letters being apparently signed for but we've never got them. He treads all over our bedding plants in our front garden (We have told him not to face to face) and when we complained to RM they brushed us off.

I think he either possesses the one ring or that cloak from Harry Potter, because as soon as post comes through, you leap to the door to catch him and !!!!!! he's gone!

I had a similar postie. He left the packages in front of my house (for the world to see), on top of my bins (for the world to see) or in my bin cupboard - which would have been fine except the little red "couldn't deliver" card wasn't put through the door but lodged in the bin cupboard mostly out (for the world to see). We had packages stolen from the bin cupboard and neighbours take packages in for us as they too were shocked at how carp the postie was.

So I sorted it out by filling in a detailed complaint form and then simply tweeting my disgust to them (for the world to see). The next day the postie for the first time actually knocked (!!!!!) and handed me our parcels - yay!!

Since then we have had no issues and I can only hope it continues! :)
i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour

Unfortunately what Custardly is saying is true. Those who cut corners and do the job faster are better thought of in RM, not those who do the job properly.

  • Must admit, I have never ever had anything that's 'recorded delivery' dropped through my door with no signature. If I am not in, it goes back to the sorting office EVERY time. And to the best of my knowledge, anything I have sent has not been dropped through with no signature either. So it always surprises me when I hear people saying this happens to them - frequently in some cases.

The last three times we have had a package delivered and nobody has been in, (and all three times have been this year,) the sorting office has said they can't give it to us unless we have a bank card or driving licence or passport of the person, and some proof of address. It was annoying the first time they asked for all the forms of I.D, as I only took proof of address, so had to go back. In my town, up to about half a year ago, they didn't require the passport/bank card/driving licence then. But they do now.

Like I said, it was annoying, but I didn't blame them, because it did say it on the card they dropped through the door: I just didn't read what it said thoroughly; so I had to drive the 14 mile round trip again, with the correct documents!

My fault: not theirs. And I always take all the documents now.

But as I said, I have yet to have a recorded delivery item drop through the door without me signing for it. My family have between 15 and 25 recorded delivery packages a year, sometimes more, and it has never happened.

Sounds like you have a postie that's doing the job properly Redsky:j

I've always had great posties here in the past, it's just this last one :wall: but it sure made me realise how bad things can get when you get one like that. If he had been my postie when I was still working with RM I may have been more understanding :)

  • I've had many, many, many "Signed-For" items delivered without being asked for a signature.
Usually small packets, often handed to me with other post so I didn't notice till the postie was gone but also stuffed through the letter box.

There are also those posties who don't even bring the packet but just the "you were out" card which they post thru with your letters. A couple of times I ran and caught them to ask whats going on but unfortunately they don't speak English.
