I agree it would help if you could filter out FB AND TW competitions.

As my time has been limited recently I've been comping by end date a few days ahead at a time, and it can be hard to pick out the non social media comps from among the often long lists of Twitter comps- you start to miss them.

If you can't filter them out, it would really help if the FB OR TW and Pinterest were highlighted in a different colour...Shame we can't just add the appropriate symbol in the title...:)

I also wouldn't like the comps to be separated out. We each have our own preferences re comping. Some would like FB and/or Twitter to be housed elsewhere, others (like me) would choose for kids, family and parents comps to be housed on a different board. All in all, I think it works best to keep as many comps as possible on the main board, rather than end up having to trawl through lots of different ones.

However I (and others) have suggested before that it would be helpful to have a filter facility when searching. So as well as searching to find key words, we could also filter out key words: FB, Twitter, kids, etc.

I enter some FB which are via Apps, what I really dislike are all the comps for FB which are L&S and really appreciate it when this is mentioned in the titles, so I can just skip past.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

I've already commented on another thread but here are my thoughts. I don't do any social media comps ever and I can't be the only one. However, looking forward to Christmas when the main board goes absolutely mental anyway how will we get through all the comps? I know for the last couple of years I've struggled to keep up with the advents, the main board and the click2wins/mags/dailies.

Did this thread require mouth to mouth ?

Didn't realise you had bumped two old threads so here's my comment copied from the other one

It would be really great to have a social media page away from the main board. I don't use any social media and I can't be the only person. If you think about it the main board goes crazy at Christmas and imagine if we include all the social media comps too. I envision a nightmare looming.

No need to imagine they are and always have been included.

(There are other competition sites available and some of them split competitions into different categories)

I agree with the OP I also spend ages clicking the red cross since I never enter twitter or Facebook comps and there are hundreds of them.

Would be lovely if they were in a separate thread.

After commenting I realised that this was an old thread started again I still think it would be so much better without all the twitter/facebook comps mixed in - some are marked as such and some not.

You do get a lot of (TW / FB) comps, so if we're talking about filtering and I want to filter out the TW competitions, does that also mean the FB Comps that I want to enter will also be filtered out (If they are posted in the same thread)?

If we had to do something; I think filtering would probably be the best option, as I personally wouldn't like to see the TW / FB posts moved to a different forum, but it might take a bit of work to avoid the scenario mentioned above (where you can enter a comp on both TW and FB being posted in the same thread). The alternative would be to post the comp twice once for FB and once for TW, but we don't want to make it more time consuming for people to post in the first place to save other people time filtering out results.

Personally I hate the RC comps, or more specifically the ones where you have to leave a blog comment, If it requires a blog comment I will generally put that in the title when I post (word count allowing), I wish more people would do this also as this would save me a ton of time, having to click into the post, click on the link, wait 10 minutes for the crappy blogger site to load and then find out I need to comment just to close it without entering :) ... at least when it has (TW) / (FB) in the title you can just click the red X and move on.

Horses to courses (is that a phrase?), each to their own, 6 and half a dozen etc etc :)

It's actually more of a pain when people don't put facebook or twitter in the title as appropriate.

A little icon next to the comp title would be lovely as it would then be really easy to spot and you wouldn't have to bother with the red cross just ignore those with the icon.

Now that is a GOOD idea.

I don't think it's a good idea to have anything posted solely off the main board. I don't do Twitter only comps, but saw one I was interested in, tweeted and won it! I'd have missed it if there was a Twitter board.

My solution is to search for anything with TW in the title posted since X days ago, reset to show 200 to the page and then redcross them all at once. I do this for various other categories I don't enter - DVD and Bluray for instance. It's painless to sit and cross a series of whole pages while watching the One Show (other non-demanding TV Programmes are available)

Why do people red X the twitter comps? (I don't really use the function so not sure)
If it's "taking ages" then why bother? they're rarely bumped, unless the tweet changes or if it's a daily (which isn't often), and most run Mon-Fri and slip down the board pretty quickly.

Seeing as there's sooooo many FB, TW and Gleam comps, maybe they should stay on the main board and move all the others.
