Combi - boiler help?

Hi,

I'm about to start renovating my home. I need to install a brand new heating system. I was wondering if anyone could help me with what size Combi to go for. I imagine one of the larger capacity ones currently available?????

The house is about 2400 Sq Ft, has a large kitchen, downstairs toilet, main upstairs bathroom & one ensuite upstairs. I've worked out there will be around 11 radiators (of various sizes, not all large) plus underfloor heating in the kitchen.

Thank you very much in advance for any advice.

Any combi will drive the CH with capacity to spare. What determines the correct rating to use for a combi is the DHW flow requirement. No combi will adequately feed two bathrooms simultaneously. Is the property even suitable for a combi in terms of flow and pressure?
The correct rating can only be determined following a proper site survey by your RGI.

Thanks. The only reason I was thinking Combi was due to cost and lack of space. Someone did mention to me about a mega flow type system? but said they can be very expensive?

Take my advice. Get a system boiler and storage cylinder..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

You have 2400 sq ft, yet are concerned about space for a boiler and hot water tank? Rethink your plans and find the space for a system which will be adequate for your needs.

You will need a minimum of 2 zones plus hot water, whichever type of boiler you decide on.
  • For a family sized house a tank any day. Two of my houses had combis - hateful things..
  • If you go onto Worcester Bosch website put in info on your house, it will tell you the type of boiler you need
