Halifax fixed isa 3 year 2012/2013

Hi on 26th March myself and The wife opened a Halifax 3 year fixed rate isa i downloaded details and also received e mail stating we had 60 days to fund account or it would be closed. Went to local Halifax branch today and they are saying I cannot now put money in for last year as 5th of April has been and gone and now it is a new tax year, surely they should not have told us we has 60 days to fund account if that was incorrect what if anything can we do.

You can open a new ISA for this year.

You will have to make a new application since you didn't fund the ISA you opened last year (I expect Halifax will close it for you).

You have 60 days to fund the account from the date of opening.

You have until 5th April to use up an allowance for a tax year.

It's your responsibility to fund in the appropriate tax year. It's fairly obvious that if you fund within 60 days but on or after 6th April you're funding for the new tax year.
