I phoned and moaned, just got a message of welcome, so that's 6 days, amusingly it says the account will show up on line within another! 48 hours.
I blame lowering the free banking threshold, its attracting too many new customers.
........and they don't do the nice credit card holders any more. Boooooo!

  • My ISA is now showing on the online platform so hopefully everyone elses is too.
Now I need to get the transfer request form sent to Stroud and Swindon and hope that I beat there transfer deadline for my old ISA's.
Hope everyone elses are being opened.

Yup, mines there, I would have thought the opening date would be backdated to the application date though. Lost a few coppers in interest!! £1.32 to be precise

Yeah, mine's now open and I was surprised that the opening date wasn't backdated too. Doesn't bother me too much as I only opened it with £1, so I can transfer the M&S one into it in the next week or so, then will add the rest of this year's subscription after the transfer (didn't want to earn just the 1.20% on the first directs lower rate on the £5,760 when this is earning 3.20% in other savings account at present).

First Direct have to send the transfer form to Stroud and Swindon not you. The transfer form is on the left of the cash isa page under more information it is a PDF form

I phoned them today and they agreed to backdate interest to the day I applied rather than days later when they actually opened it.

My FD Cash ISA was opened end of March and money transferred in April 16th, however no interest showing for 1st May, it is now 2nd May and I thought it might show 2 weeks interest.

Does anyone know when FD update the monthly interest to show in your online account?
Thought it would show day after it was due...

I phoned about my own ISA and despite the transferred ISA amount not even showing online yet, they confirmed all interest will be backdated to the date of transfer.

    I'm not happy though.

It took them 4 days to actually open the ISA (but after I complained they've agreed to backdate to the date I applied)

they sent me the transfer forms out but it took a further week before I go them.

They received the transfer money 26th April and only from this date will I get the max 3%.

Once it's showing in the account I'm going to ask for interest backdated

This is the first time since I opened the FD account (around 20 years?) that I've had any issues with them. I just hope it's not a sign of the times :wall:

I've had some problems with my ISA transfer too. It seems as soon as any company goes near ISAs, if there's a problem, it's a true test of how good they are.
