    Ah right.

It may be able to be solved by just making sure your wireless network name and security settings on your new router are set up to be the same as on the old one. Do you change them or do you use the ones that come with the router?

Thank you so much for this and the link. Trying to get my head around it now.

I have never changed any security settings (would not know how to). The only thing I changed was the Wi-Fi password on laptop and phone to get internet.

Will read through the link and see where to find the network name and security settings.

Basically your printer is currently set up to connect to your old router which had a default network name (eg SKY1234), and a default wireless key (eg ABCDEFG), which your ISP gave that particular router.

You got a new router, which will have a different default network name (eg SKY5678) and a different wireless key (eg HIJKLMN).

You may be able to fix the problem by logging on to the router and just changing the name and key to be the same as the old one (if you know them). This is quite easy if you know where to look in the setting screens but it varies by router and ISP. That way the printer will be looking for the right network. You would need to change your settings on your laptop and phone again though to reflect this but as you did it when your new router was installed I assume you're ok with that bit?
  • DONE IT!!!

I had to press a WPS button on the router and then be patient!!

Thank you for your help and patience with me

Haha well that was easier than doing what I was going on about! Didn't think that would work with the router being different, so I've learned summat. Glad its working! :)

I spoke too soon. I printed out a network test which showed:

    Wireless on: PASS
    Wireless Working: PASS
    Connected: PASS

SSID as the new router, but the IP address is slightly different. Only one page printed out and then nothing else (maybe was in the printer memory?).

Now I cannot even get a wireless connection from the router to the printer. I have even moved the printer to next to the router to see if that would help. Cannot find any original instructions which came with the printer. Been looking at the online instructions, and put back to network restore, but still nothing.

Where are the settings saved for the printer? Do I need to connect by USB? My head is hurting :(

Some printers need a USB connection to set the wireless up
