Can I open two ISAs in a year?

Sorry for the question which I'm sure has been answered somewhere before (I couldn't find anything) but -
Can I open a new 2013/2014 ISA to put new money in, and a second 2013/2014 ISA to transfer my old ISAs in to? Or do I need to deposit the new money into the account that my transfer have gone in?
Basically I was hoping I could open the cov poppy bond for my new money and the cheshire account to transfer in my old money.
Thanks in advance

Yes you can do this. With the transferring ISA you open it with £0, and fill in an ISA Transfer Form with the new provider. You will need the details of your transferring ISA (bank address, sort code, account number).0

Thanks - here's my next stupid question:
Can I transfer in one ISA now when I open it, then another later in the year? I think my AA 3.5% is good until May.0 -
Instant access accounts yes.
Fixed term accounts usually only allow 1 deposit, or deposits within 14 days or so.
I don't know what your AA one is.
AA Postal Access ISA (Issue 3) - This one maybe?0 -
Yes I think that's the one. It was opened at/near the start of the last ISA year.
Thanks for your help.0
