Do you often find you do get "Dud" laptop if you purchase refurb's?

Those two machines are very similar. The Asus has an SD card reader, which the Fujitsu doesn't appear to have. Whether that's important for you, and worth an extra £47 is your decision.

just note the staples system price comes up ex vat, if it includes vat then it comes to £399 which is £20 more than the asus, which would mean the Asus is better value,

this being said i would still consider the Acer previously mentioned as although it has 2gb RAM less than the Asus the extended warrenty for £32 also linked with accidental damage cover would be very very temping in my eyes when you are giving it to a child
