I watered the garden last night because it looked parched and Murphy's law prevails and it is raining this morning.

I have a Doctors appointment at 9.50am and we are supposed to be taking MIL to the garden centre this afternoon so that she can choose something for her birthday which is today, so I hope it dries up.

Tina.. A lot of us are dreading facing the Atos stitch up, we all know that it is not a proper medical and is fixed and yet there is nothing we can do about it apart from appeal and the barstewards have moved the goalposts on that as well

Molly...Glad to hear that your Dad and DS are making progress x

Ruby.. ((((Hugs)))) for little dog x

Hester.. Why should you be expected to do the cleaning? Sounds like the site agent needs to sort his staff out. Mind you there are 2 weeks a year when cleaners are not paid and I believe it is in the Easter break, but I will have to ask DH on that.

Well I had better get a wriggle on

    Morning all!
My brother arrives home this morning:j:j:j:j:j The Heathrow website shows his flight arriving half an hour late, hopefully not because there isn't much leeway between that and his flight to Glasgow! I have to pick up his daughter and take her to the airport, there will be much biting of tongue in the car, as we haven't seen her since my dad died almost 4 years ago, she doesn't even phone mum, and I am not the most subtle at the best of times, so DS is coming along to referee!
No news yet of aunt in law today, don't want to phone too early, apparently when the phone rings she thinks its someone calling with bad news, I think OH's death may have affected her more than hubby thought, they were very close when he was younger.
Better get some tidying done here before I need to go out, have a good day all!
    RIP Iain

    Morning.

I'm planning on spending today ebaying (and then going to work). I listed some more things yesterday and some sold straight away. I haven't even started on my wardrobe yet. I have some things that should go well.

I'm trying hard to raise personal funds. Things are ok in household but I hubby and I have pocket money like the children and I 'need' some bits. I'm trying to find £500 in total.

We're hopefully going to London at the end of may to visit the Bowie exhibition at the V&A so that's my deadline. We didnt get tickets so became members instead. We aren't having a proper holiday this year so we will have a mini break.

One of my needs is a Furla bag and I want to have enough for that when we go so I can buy it in store in London. Much more satisfying than Internet shopping. Handbags are my weakness. I have a small collection of designer bags but their cost per wear over the years make them much better value than high street bags. My husband laughs because I am happy to shop at car boots, chazza's and eBay but use high end bags. This is how it should be though, save and cut back where you can so you can buy the things you really want.

Beef pie for tea. Had a gammon roast yesterday. Its meal three from the large half price joint I bought a few weeks ago. Still got enough for another two meals. Feeding 4 at each meal so that's brilliant, works out about 50p per portion.

    Good morning
It is raining here in Hampshire. I kept saying yesterday it looked like rain as it was so dull outside. The rain started in the night.

Yesterday, I did my supermarket shop. I wrote a list and checked with mysupermarket.com for the best buys/deals.
I am good at sticking to what is on my list.

Asda are doing a good buy on chocolate coated donuts = 12 for £2.
Only problem = my greedy family. Just run down stairs and put x1 in a lock and lock box with my name on for my mid morning snack. Bought yesterday afternoon and now all gone!
    Oh = 4 adult son =6 me = x2.

Still no battery for my kindle v postie. I am beginning to worry. It was meant to come Thursday/Friday last week.
I keep saying to myself - give it a few more days. I do not want to complain. The x1 battery was £12.35.

Oh emptied some garden tubs/pots yesterday afternoon. We are not having many this summer due to cutting back on pennies. The cost of soil and bedding plants.
Then the watering when hot weather.
We are going to re pot some shrubs in 3 that I bought last autumn. We have a small collection of roses given to Oh for birthdays. Invested in some climbing roses also last year for our wooden fence's.

Dinner tonight = pasta in sauce with meatballs (whoopsie from yesterdays shop) will be cooking fresh vegetables.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)

    Snow here:eek:
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning :hello:

I made it through my appointment :D They even offered me a sticker, lol. My dentist is actually brilliant, as is the hygienist. I don't know what it is (or where it came from – I used to be fine) but I turn into a big baby. Have to go back in a couple of weeks so in about 10 days times I'll be panicking again :D Glad your appointment went well too Julie :)

We've rearranged the chicken fence a bit, moved the compost bins and rotovated the veg patch. I say we, mr tru did most of it because I had a banging headache :D I've got loads of seeds, so I'll sort through them today. I think I'll make a gardening calendar too.

  • Morning Guys!

Had an unsettled night, but feeling a bit more with it now after my meds and help getting washed and dressed. Trying muscle relaxants at the moment, but they make you feel a little high, but does help the spasms in my legs and arms.

Had a ham and cheese toastie for breakfast as I fancied it:D

OH has gone out for a few errands and post off sales. We have a friend coming over later for dinner and he loves our sausage and mash, so doing that with lots of fresh veggies and HM onion and mushroom gravy which is pretty good and tasty. May get OH to do some yorkies as well if the oven is on, so extra for the freezer too.

I've also managed to list a few more items, so pleased with that.

DD doing work for college to maintain her distinctions and we've put a deposit down on her new digs for Uni. Its so expensive, but thats what she wants, so we'll work it out somehow.

    Hope you're all ok.

    Morning all,
Managed to get the whole of upstairs vacumed and polished before DGD2 gets here at 11.00. We'll make some cookies together and play lots of games. Got some lamb shanks in the slow cooker for dinner tonight. I found some apples in the freezer so I'll make an apple cake.
After a week of lighting the inglenook and having it going from dawn to dusk the Crows have finally given up nesting in the chimney, I'll clean it out and lay it again just incase.
    Not much else happening.
Hope you all have a good day.

    Morning Halight and all.

tina malteser i hope you get on well at the doctors with your BP. Which reminds me, my surgery hasnt sent me a note requesting home readings for a month or two. They must be due to send me one soon.

Redruby hope little dog does well at the vets... which reminds me, my vet sent me a reminder ages ago that my 'Girls' vaccinations are overdue. I must nag hubby to let go of some cash. Ive reminded him several times and i think i now need to resort to nagging. I hate nagging him but i do think the girls are worth nagging for.

Molly41 No snow here thankfully, the last lot has only just melted. Hazy sunshine but cold here. Room for improvement most definately.

Nothing new from me i am afraid. Eldest daughter has had the HIV tests for the baby girl they are fostering and they are clear. Thankfully they havent had to look after a HIV+ baby yet. However, they have had an HIV- baby born of 2 HIV+ parents. Strange that, i'd have thought it was impossible.

Youngest daughter is still in love with their new car. I'm getting pictures of it by the boat load. I havent got to see it in real life yet as the fiance has been taking it to work to make sure everything is as it should be and he's on funny shifts.

Youngest isnt happy. He's had words with his best friend who has broke his headphones. He's offered to pay for a cheap set out of A$da and Youngest wants him to replace what he broke with the same quality which were quite expensive for what they are.

Hubby is as happy as Larry. The job he wanted has been offered to him. He has given his current employer 3 weeks notice.

    Jobs for today:

    [STRIKE]Dust upstairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Dust downstairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Laundry[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Cooker[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Bath 'Girl number 2'[/STRIKE]
    Post Office
[STRIKE]Bathroom (it will need a good clean after ive bathed Girly i can assure you).[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Vacuum downstairs[/STRIKE]

Tea will be chicken breasts and roast potatoes i think. Ive got some French beans which i want to use up.

    Have a good day all.
