O/S Daily Tuesday 09 April 2013

O/S Daily Tuesday 09 April 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Got a few odd jobs to do around the house.

they have said its going to be chilly today and and that there will be some rain.

I also have to clean the chicks out, Still calling them chicks but they have 90% of there feathers now, And are getting quite big, So while they are still chicks they don't look like ones.

  • Good morning everyone :)

Very chilly here but no ice, I wish someone would tell the weather it's supposed to be Spring.

Late night last night as predicted so didn't get anything done but did last the fast. Need to post an Amazon parcel today and list a few things on ebay tonight

Pork mince out of the freezer and will decide what to do with it tonight, something oriental I think. I have soup for lunch and DH has sandwiches, I think he is all souped out!

Have resolved to sort out the music cupboard tonight, this will probably be painful as I know DH won't want to part with anything but it's chaos in there.

Time to get dried and dressed for work.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day :)

Sorry you had a bad night Halight.
Bargain Bird, hope you are ok & just busy.
Molly, I hope Dad & your son are ok.
    Hugs to LW.
Raining here, still I'm off to work so it doesn't matter much to me.
WM on, DW emptied, packup's sorted & fish fed.
I'm getting paid to go in today as I'm going in to do a day's cleaning, I'm always happy to work for a bit extra money, what I don't understand is why they ask 3 of us admin team in to clean when we have a team of 7 onsite cleaners in anyway over the holidays. Well I do understand, it's because our cleaners are useless, they leave stuff dirtier than when they started. But why do they let them get away with it!
    Onwards & upwards.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone

Cloudy and dull and frosty again here this morning. Have just hung the washing out on the line.

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was pasta with smoked sausage and mushrooms in a creme fraiche sauce - was delicious and the menfolk said "you got that just right!" - what that means is anyone's guess - right quantity, right flavour, right temperature! But clean plates all round. Tonight an easy meal of fish, chips/jacket, beans/veg - so won't be too difficult when I come in from work.

Didn't think yesterday was going to be too bad as to start off with for about half an hour we weren't very busy - then it was continously busy right up until we closed and at closing time we still had a lot of people in the shop - hoping today will be a little easier. Was shattered last night so could have gone to bed at 9pm but know if I do I'll be awake stupid early and then not able to get back to sleep - so amused myself on pc and watched some tv before going to bed.

    Keep safe and well x

Morning all, had a productive day planned for today, but then an email from work requested PLEASE could I go to a meeting today as it links in with some other work. Originally the attendance was unpaid, so I had said as I had other appointments booked I couldn't go. Well now they said PLEASE and will pay, so cancelled everything for today and off to a day long session in the big smoke. I am happy to go to these things on an unpaid basis if it fits in with my other stuff, btw. That wasn't the problem.
As I'm going to France for a few days on Thursday (cheap ferry, staying self-catering) as an early birthday present from my OH and seeing my son tomorrow I am wondering when the heck I am going to get the ironing etc done before I go away????
Lunch will be provided at the meeting and I've got a HM veg curry out of the freezer for tonight. Used up tired veg to make a soup last night so will freeze that when I get home tonight and use some for lunch tomorrow.
Wrote and sent off my CV and application form for the new job in the disabilities field, so now it's everything crossed until I hear from them. Scary. It's very part-time, but would enable me to switch to just doing disability related work, rather than splitting between accountancy and that.
Right off to catch my train......have a good day all.

    Morning all,

We have rain here, honestly cant remember the last time it rained, we had to empty the water butt in the garden when we did the fence, so hope it fills up a bit.

Dropping dd at work this morning, then on to take little dog to the vets, she has to be in all day for 2 hr blood tests, she is going to hate it, she is very anxious when away from us, and she does not like other dogs much :o, I shall be glad to get her back tonight.

When I get back from the vets, I need to hoover / tidy through, then prep the dinner, and go and see my dad, if I have time I shall do some office work, but if not it can wait.

Right better get on, have good days all xx
