Frustration at Santander advisor & myself

I had a few weeks before the bonus on my Santander 3.3% ISA expired but with the new tax year ending I knew the best rates would be disappearing.

I phoned Santander to 'upgrade' to the latest account but the advisor recommended I wait and take advantage of my existing higher rate as long as possible. I said they'd likely withdraw the top rates after the 4th but he assured me they were newly introduced rates and shouldn't be going anywhere, though he said he couldn't guarantee it. Despite my better judgement I followed his advice.

Now I see their rate has indeed dropped from an already low 2.5% to 2.0%, leaving me a bit frustrated at myself for listening to the advisor. The next best rate that allows transfers is Cheshire at 2.3%, but the lack of internet banking and using yet another bank (current acc is BOS and also a 3.2% instant access with Santander) is off-putting. I had been happy with Santander's rates and even service over the past 2 years and would have otherwise have preferred to stay with them.

I will phone and explain my frustration and tell them I'm leaving them, but will they offer me the old rate? I have the impression that once a rate is gone there's no flexibility on this at all.
