New Orange contract + rollver minutes
Options
Got 2 contracts from Orange recently, one was the 6300 12m free OSPS deal (yes!) and one was the D900 samsung deal from phones4u
Anyway, in short I think the minutes being non-rollover with Orange is a scam,
I got the phone on the 17th April - automated minutes service not working - 'service is being updated'
I rang up Orange the same day to ask how many mins I have - they cant confirm as the 'service has to be updated'
On the 24th, I get my first bill showing 41 minutes for 17APR-21APR, which I didnt use since I didnt know how many I had! Then the regular 250 minutes for the 22APR-21MAY. Note that since this is an animal plan, theres no rollover, so in effect, I didnt know how many minutes I had on the 17th before my regular billing cycle kicks in & Orange CS couldnt tell me - so how am I supposed to know I had 41 minutes and why arent they being rolled over for the first bill at least?
Isnt this a bit of a scam?

How is it a scam?
Didn't you realise it would be Pro rata, so 250mins divided by say 30days = 8.33 min a day then times it by the days to the billing date (21st Which the Cs could tell you)
So 8.33 min x 5days = 41.65 mins
And if it was me I would stay under 40 to make sure.
If I would have been the customer service advisor on the phone though I would have worked this out for you, but some are useless and don't do any more than they really NEED too.0 -
It's not a scam, but on the other hand, abolishing rollover makes it less attractive, and until you got the letter you might not have known the billing date and known to use or lose those in that few days.
Have another chat with them, and I expect they'll add back a few quid goodwill credit.0
