Comfy Flipflops

I have fit flops and Birkenstocks - much prefer the birkies for hot climate as the fit flops have synthetic insole which gets slippy in high temperatures (seems to make your feet sweat more)

Another vote for Fitflops here. I usually buy mine from Boots.com sale using my Ad Card points. Have also got Fit Flop leather trainers and suede boots.
Also agree that Crocs flip flops are very comfy though the soles aren't as thick as Fit Flops so not sure how comfy they'd be on Rome's cobbles.

They are sooo comfy and they have an ethical story behind them.If you don't ask, you don't get!

The best flip flops I've ever owned came from Asda - I bought them in desperation one day as my feet were killing me in my new shoes. They cost £2 and lasted about 5 years of near-daily use during the summer. They had the cloth posts rather than plastic.
I've also had a few kurt gieger pairs - the black, rubbery sole and post makes them very comfortable. I still have, and regularly use, a pair that I got 8 years ago.
Failing that - and I never thought I'd say this
- I'd recommend the crocs ones. Or the Adrina Sandals - my mum has a pair and when I tried them, it felt like I wasn't actually wearing anything! 0 -
had a browse round tk maxx, go outdoors and sports direct last night!
settled for some sports/walking sandals (not karrimor but similar).
Should keep me feet blister free, and i can brake out the wedges/gladiator sandals in the evenings!

I bought these last year (coincidentally also for walking around Rome) and they are the only sandals I've ever had that have not rubbed or hurt. And believe me I walked miles and miles in them on cobblestones in the heat of the day! Which is why I discovered they are also washable - or at least I've washed them several times no problem. And they look at least smart-ish since I'm not a big fan of looking obviously like a tourist

I'm just hoping they come out in black again this year.
Unless you have wide feet, you'll need to size down...

Same thing different colour - this one looks much nicer on than it does on the page and goes with anything

I swear by Birkenstocks if you get pretty colours they don't look bad either
had a few pairs and they even survive Nevada heat and daily wear for 2yrs

Fit flops are the ones with the curved sole right ?
I thought they gave your calfs a workout?
I didn't think they were even meant to be super comfortable?
Are they really comfortable? Why? The thick sole?0
