Lloyds Pharmacy

Can anyone tell me how I would go about making a complaint about a member of staff at my local pharmacy?
Basically her attitude is appalling given her chosen profession and today I left the shop in tears and feeling humiliated.
Normally I go to a different chemist (2 miles away from my house) just to avoid her as she is always working but today I didn't have a choice as I was in a hurry.
She is not a pharmacist, she works on the counter, but she is just horrible.
I only wanted a bottle of Infacol on minor ailments for my newborn and she made me feel like I was stealing it. She didn't even give it to me I was told it would have to go through like a normal prescription and I've to go back after 45 mins. I'm getting hubby to collect it after work as I can't face her anymore.
Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place.

I found that you had to go around the houses a bit to find out, but Lloyds do have a very good telephone customer service/complaints department - they helped me out when I was having problems with my local branch.
If I remember correctly, I phoned the main contact number from their online website but then explained and was given a different number at Head Office to phone. Sorry, but I don't have the details here with me.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Thank you, your reply was really helpful.
I didn't realise they had a website. I've taken a note of the number & will be calling them later.
This isn't a one off incident, no matter what I'm there for she always makes the process difficult & akward.0 -

To be fair, if you had a prescription for it then yes, it would have to go through as a normal prescription, they can't just give it to you for free without going through the normal prescription procedure, regardless of the fact that you can buy it OTC.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
What exactly is your complaint?
What do you mean by "she made you feel like you were stealing it?"
I picked it up off off the shelf & stood in the queue with it, she made s big scene in front of people saying I shouldn't be handling the goods until the prescription has been authorised.
My son is 5 weeks old and we registered him for the minor ailments scheme shortly after he was born on the advice of our health visitor because he suffers with colic. At the time I was given a lecture on how it was up to the pharmacist whether my child needs the infacol and I wasn't allowed to merely come in and ask for it - even though 1) we are entitled to it & 2) our health visitor advised us to.
Today after I was reprimanded for 'handlling the merchandise' I was told I was abusing the scheme by using it as a repeat prescription service. Not only is infacol meant for continued use but my GP won't prescribe anything for colic, he tells you to use minor ailments!!
She also told me that as there's no proof infacol actually cures colic I shouldn't be given it - in her opinion.
Obviously the pharmacist doesn't have a problem with it because twice now she's asked her to put it through for me.
I'm more than a little unwilling to be taking medical/scientific advice from a counter clerk.
As stated, there's been attitude problems with her in the past, once it involved buying after sun. There doesn't seem to be an exact trigger for her rudeness.0 -

I didn't realise it had to be put through this way until I got home and looked up the info online. It makes sense but at the time I thought the woman was trying to be extra mean.0 -
Sounds like she was trying to give advice rather than just handing over potentially dangerous medicines. Still cannot see what your complaint is.0

You can buy this stuff OTC without needing to ask a pharmacist etc. You can buy it in Asda !!!!!!. The cashier just seems to be a moody cow0 -
I would welcome the advice if I was going to give it to a 5 week old baby.
She's a cashier. It's none of her damn business. I'd sooner listen to my health visitor or a pharmacist than a moody cashier. If there's an issue, it's down to the pharmacist to state this. The pharmacist has no problem, the HV has also made the recommendation to use this medicine. Also, the comments that the cashier has made about "there's no proof Infacol cures colic" is total bull.
Her opinion is of no concern to the OP and quite frankly she is in no position to be handing out medical advice, that is the job of the pharmacist/HV/GP.0
