Parking Eye - Letter Before Action

I know there are lots of threads about PCNs and Parking Eye and that general advice seems to be to ignore, however, I have today received a 'Letter Before Action' and a search seems to suggest that I am very likely to now get a Court Summons and that Parking Eye are becoming more litigious. Nothing otherwise unusual about case. I believed that parking was suspended as it was a tourist resort and most parking was suspended out of season. Advice please!

You really need to edit out all the dates, they are more likely to issue a small claim now that you have identified yourself ! See this thread

When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

The Advice is, if you are not 100% prepared to meet the speculative claim in court, you pay the Blackmailers to go away and hope they dont come back.
    Which they will.

Having people making false claims is part of life I am afraid, they come thick and fast.
If the Nigerian E-mail scammer issued a claim, would you pay it ?

We live in a free country where anyone can issue an invoice and can issue a CCJ claim for none payment.
The trouble starts when they have to fight the case in court.

As you are at this stage, you have two choices, buckle and pay up and expect a lot more as they mark you down as a mug, or let them put up and defend it on the several very good defences available claiming your losses in return.

They do get some right hidings in court and the choice is yours.

You wont be the first Jon or johnny on here with a similar tale.
    Be happy...;)

    Thanks for that!
  • I have also received a Letter Before Action from parking eye, I have also thus far ignored all letters - including those from their debt recovery agency.
Everything I have read has always advised to continue to ignore, however this letter leads me to believe they are going to take me to court?
I have read th post advising to give limited details out as they scan these sites for 'targets', so my situate as follows,
I am no longer the registered keeper but was at the time,
    It was in England
I received the original letter early in this year but the incident didn't happen this year
I have not had any contact with parking eye

I am curious as to whether they are going to try court proceedings or what I can do about it as I don't want to pay and then they continue to hound me even after as I am a 'mug' for having paid.

Read this as I can't reply to the same question twice in 10 mins; it gets far too much like Groundhog Day on here!

:) Yes they may try a small claim - so what, just 'be prepared' - read that reply so you are ready to respond if needed and so that you don't fall for the scam at the last minute just because some paperwork scares you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
