  • Hi
There's some tikka paste that pataks do which you mix half and half with natural yoghurt then marinade your chicken then cook it. This can be left to cool and eaten cold it is really nice. In fact haven't had any for ages just might have some this week

I do wraps for my OH for work, I use the ready cooked sliced value chicken tikka from Mr t's and use a garlic mint yogurt sauce with it.

    Yogurt sauce

    3/4 cup cheap plain yogurt
1/4 teaspoon mint sauce (any cheap jar will do)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 1/2 clove chopped garlic
good pinch of hot chilli powder .

Mix well together spoon over tikka and wrap, I sometimes add a few jalepenos for a little extra heat.

Cheap as chips, low fat and very yummy.

OP I have mixed the paste from the jar with mayo and just used it like that as a sauce for cooked chicken etc, but I think it would be nicer if the paste was cooked a bit. You could chop some onion and cook it and then add some of the paste from a jar, and just cook that a bit, let it get cold and then mix it into mayo, sieving it if you don't want the bits of onion in. Or I used to make a very simple curry mayo long before you could buy ready-made pastes: you chop half an onion and fry in oil till soft but not brown, add a spoonful of curry powder or garam masala or whatever you've got, cook that a bit to cook the powder, take it off the heat and add a dessertspoonful tomato puree and a splash water, let it get cold. Then use this, either sieved or not to mix into mayo. This version is very easy and very cheap ! (and very tasty !)
  • Thanks for the tips everyone, will give them a go. :)
