Im another who would second an Access Course at your local college. These can be part-time over two years so can be done with a young family xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Are you not eligible for a student loan?0 -
Kayalana if your family income is less than 25k and you haven't completed a levels you qualify for access to success funding, which is to do an access course (i did y176) and a level 1 module for £75 at the OU. have a google if you're eligible xMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

I know it's not of much practical use, but the main thing that strikes me about your post is your age... 22! Wow, so young! Just spend a while enjoying your life and your new babies - the answers will come with time."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Have to say that as you've got a second baby on the way, you might be underestimating the amount of time you'll have to do anything like this once the baby arrives. Two young children and a part time job is quite a load in itself, you may not have the energy for anything else, especially a uni course.
I'd stick it out at the A level though, get that done and at least that would be one tick in the "achieved" box, no? Apart from that, if you feel your brain rotting a bit how about looking around for some sort of life enhancing hobby that can be fitted round kids and work but with less time pressure? A sport or new skill that you can include the chiildren in as they grow would be ideal. I'm hesitant to say get an allotment or learn to sew as the general perception amongst the young is that these are activities for older folk but you should be able to think of something you like better. What do you do in your leisure time atm?Val.0 -
Think outside the box for a moment. You talk about wanting to help kids who have emotional or behavioural challenges or perhaps have had a poor home life. Have you thought about working in a specialist school? Many schools are residential so there is opportunity to do both school and care work and you would still be able to make a positive difference to their lives. The hours are regular and there is opportunity to advance your career. It is a very rewarding frontline role.:T Looking forward to the future :T0
