Returns Policies

Alright guys,
Wasn't sure if this is the correct place to put this - If not please move to the most appropriate place please. Thanks
I'm doing some work for my dissertation on the returns policies in the UK.
I'm aware that John Lewis has a return anytime policy - but are there any really strict returns policies that you've come across?
If so which ones?
Thanks

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Consumer Rights board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0

YOu really need to be more specific in the sort of information that you are looking for.
Do you want examples of returns policies relating to face to face sales or distance contracts, returns policies that are attempting to breech legislation etc?0 -
Companies have there own returns policies, no right to return for face to face sales in the retailers premises is as about as strict as they can be.
Then there is the statutory rights such as Distance selling regulations which are for sales over the internet, phone etc.
You really need to be a bit more specific about what you are looking for.0 -
Sports direct is one I can think of they only offer exchanges on non faulty items.0

Thank you, yes I'm talking about Face to face - instore (Brick and mortar) sales.0 -
Since you are writing a dissertation shouldn't you be doing the research yourself?
Try googling a few stores' websites; some will not offer exchanges on items which are not faulty; some stores will not allow customers to return sale-bought items unless faulty even though they usually allow returns for change-of-mind. It's also quite common for stores to alter their T&Cs around Christmas, and not allow change-of-mind returns then for a couple of weeks or so.
At least, if you do your own research, you will be able to reference the source rather than quoting (largely) anonymous posters on a forum!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
