Help! Washing machine disaster.

Well my 21 yo son, who lacks any common sense, has more than once put powder and fab conditioner in the wrong compartments. The only problem has been that the washing powder tends to block the conditioner drawer, leaving a solid mass of powder, which I've had to prise out. The conditioner washes away fine. The clothes have been okay but have needed an extra rinse.
So, I'd save some time and trouble by trying to remove the powder from the conditioner drawer before washing, as it is easier. If the drawer is removable, this is the easiest way. If not, I'd spoon it out and give a final blast with the nozzle from the vacuum cleaner.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
Run a cycle without any washing in to clear the drawers out if you're worried.0

I always used to find this at the launderette! Someone would put washing powder into the little bit where the fabric conditioner goes.
OP I'd have thought the drawer would come out, but don't go forcing it. I'd wait till your mum gets back and ask her how to use the machine for next time0 -

I had a washing mishap the other day. I shook what I thought was tea tree oil into the drawer.... it was jojoba oil. Ooops! Everything was lovely and soft though.0

Empty the machine of all clothing. Do a quick wash with an empty drum.0

Aww, aren't the school hols sweet for random postings!
OP, you won't have damaged the machine. Take all the clothes out and put it to wash empty. Take the opportunity to give it a good thorough run through - I'd suggest a 90 degree wash.
