Halifax Clarity Card wins for me every time. I don't bother getting any currency in the UK when I go abroad, just use the ATMs at the destination airport

You don't have to wait for a statement to credit your Clarity Account. I transfer the money the day after the transaction from by current account.

Depends whether you think the pound is going to drop any further. If you'd changed your money a few weeks ago you would have got US$1.60 per pound, now only $1.50.
