Hello,
I am travelling to the dominican republic in 3 weeks. Reading posts online there are mixed reviews as to take USD or get pesos out of a cash machine when i get there.
If i take enough USD for my visa and get pesos out of a cash machine, am i better using my debit card or getting a Halifax Clarirty Credit Card
Halifax Clarity Credit
This is a top overseas spending card
Exchange Load 0%
ATM Charge 0%
Spending ChargeNone
Cash withdrawal interest 12.9% (even if repaid in full)
Cost of £100 worth of.. Spending
Cash withdrawals Total Worldwide £0 approx £1/month £1
First Direct Debit
This is a bog standard overseas spending card
Exchange Load 2.75%
ATM Charge 2% (min £1.75)
Spending Charge
Cash withdrawal interest: None 0%
Thanks
Chris

Halifax Clarity Card wins for me every time. I don't bother getting any currency in the UK when I go abroad, just use the ATMs at the destination airport
You don't have to wait for a statement to credit your Clarity Account. I transfer the money the day after the transaction from by current account.0 -
Depends whether you think the pound is going to drop any further. If you'd changed your money a few weeks ago you would have got US$1.60 per pound, now only $1.50.0
