Switching BB and line rental

I currently have AOL BB with free anytime calls and BT line. Due to BT putting up their prices again and not being able to pay upfront to make a saving due to calls being with AOL, I wondered what the best way forward would be.

AOL have offered unlimited BB/line rental and anytime calls inc 0845/0870 for £21.45 which works just slightly cheaper than I am paying now (I don't get free 0845/0870 calls at the moment - so slight bonus).

I have found AOL OK but lately the BB has been intermittent so not sure about being tied into at 12/18 month contract.

I'd speak to AOL again and ask if they can offer a better deal. I've been an AOL broadband customer for 15+ years and am currently paying £10.31 for unlimited broadband and thought it was about time I looked around. After a lengthy conversation explaining the various better offers available with other providers I have been offered what I think is a cracking 18 month deal. By moving line rental over from BT I will get unlimited broadband and line rental free for 6 months. After that the normal price is £21.45 but a £5 credit per month will be applied for the next 12 months bringing the cost down to £16.45 per month BUT by paying £114 line rental upfront the average monthly cost is reduced to just £11.60 per month for the 12 months which therefore works out at just £7.73 per month over the 18 months. I also get free anytime landline calls inc 0845 & 0870 & Free Unlimited International Calls included too!

Thanks for your reply. I did ring them again and got the same as you but only 3mths free not 6, but I'm happy with that. Mine is only a 12mth contract plus a free wireless router.
