Sent money to my own BOI Card number instead of account number from my halifax

I used the link above and checked 8 consecutive numbers for some correct sortcode. 2 out of 8 were valid.
What I said was there is only a minute possibility that a random 8 digit number actually belongs to a real account. "Valid" may mean something else, such as a mathematically possible account number.
Look at it this way, there are 100 million possible 8 digit numbers. Obviously no bank even has 100 thousand accounts at a single branch, so (as I said) the chances that you can guess a number and it turns out to be someone's real account number are only slightly better than the premium bond prize odds.
Still can't make out how a card number can be 8 digits though.0 -

Well given those images (especially the top BOI one) I would have expected the number centre bottom to be the bank account number. So if the OP John Diver has given that number I would expect the money to arrive correctly.
Hopefully he has now got hold of his bank details and verified whether or not the account number is the same as that one.0 -
