If they had got it cheap - i would file an NPB after 4 days - close it on 8.

Then you can try get the price its worth.

I am going to do this:beer:

She did contact me after winning the auction (hence why I was suspicious) but she contacted me straight away which did allay some fears, if she hadn't I may have just done a NPB.
i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour

Well an auction is something that may not be there in a week unlike a normal online shop, and you can bid on many items and not expect to win all of them.

But if you're going to make the seller wait I'd send a message pretty quickly letting them know exactly when I'll be paying.

Whilst I agree with the above TO A DEGREE ....
try going into your supermarket. Local shop. Wherever.
See that *whatever* it is that you like; you need; you could REALLY 'do' with; you want.
Try telling THEM ..... "I can't afford it now, but put it by until next week and I'll pay you then" and see what they say?
Oh - I feel a new Tesco promotion on the horizon! ROTFL :D
    Sorry, but ...
I would NEVER bid on an item I could not afford NOW.
If circumstances are so .... tight ... who knows what could happen which would affect this purchase?
Sorry but (as is said) been there, done that.
NOTE: "I promise to pay the bearer on demand" - if you can't, trouble beckons.

My local corner shop are quite happy to put to one side something a customer wants, but can't at that moment pay for it.

Yes, but I expect the customer makes arrangements with the corner shop first, and the corner shop knows the customer as a regular;)

If a bidder contacts you before asking "if I win, would you mind waiting until the Xth when I get paid" it's ok in my book if they go on to win and you wait until they pay.

It's the bidders whom fail the contact and then assume it's ok to wait 2 weeks before paying annoy me.

    Update to thread:

Non paying bidder dispute filed and closed as bidder did not pay. Final value fees refunded and item relisted.

Here's hoping third time lucky and I get a genuine ebayer buying my items!

Thanks for the advice and discussion about this problem - much appreciated :)
