Posting on behalf of a friend who wants to join us on here and also needs some urgent advice, but despite registering yesterday has still not received an activation email.
Is this normal maybe because its weekend perhaps?

I had this problem for ages and have only just managed to join myself.

This sites "captcha" does NOT work on chrome. Which doesn't even appear when trying to join on chrome, so you dont even know that might be a problem. I had to join on IE where the captcha does appear.

    This really needs sorting!
  • Hi ferry and anoncol,

You appear to both have slightly different problems.

Activation emails usually get delivered. But email providers have been known to block them as spam. Sometimes they will automatically file the email away in a "Spam" or "Junk" folder. Other times they will just block it completely. If your friend has a "Junk" or "Spam" folder they should check there. If they are sure the email hasn't been delivered and that they provided the correct email address when registering, then please tell them to contact forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com so that we can assist them further. Thank you.

I just registered a test user successfully in Chrome. So the problem is either inconsistent or was resolved. We use ReCAPTCHA software. Supplied and maintained by Google. It does occasionally have glitches but in the past Google have resolved them reasonably quickly. I see you did eventually manage to register. So that's encouraging. Apologies for the inconvenience which was caused.
