Cheshire BS Sort Code?

I have just opened a 3yr Halifax ISA fixed at 3%. I am trying to transfer my existing Cheshire ISA into this account, however on the transfer form it asks for my current ISA holder Sort Code, my documents do not have a Sort Code. I have an account number, MATS number (No idea what it is but it is shown beneath my account number) and a Ref Number beginning CISA which was shown in my initial letter of acceptance by Cheshire. I have tried telephoning Cheshire on two different numbers but it closed at 1pm (which surprised me today!). Would anyone have any idea what details I need to fill in. The Halifax transfer in form asks for my Roll number if transferring from a Building Society.

    20-53-77 I think.

Have you looked under the terms and conditions for the cheshire account. There is usually this information where it tells you how to make electronic payments.

Usually theres the sort code, an account number, then the reference number (also called a roll number) you have on the letter.

    Look here under savings accounts:

    So you need

    CISA????????

Thanks David78, I have had a look through T&C's and Guide to Managing your ISA and there is nothing I can see written there. My account is a Cheshire ISA Saver, issue 1 I think, it pays 2.5% V with bonus inc.

Even though Cheshire are part of Nationwide, they don't use sort codes - so just enter your account number and leave the other boxes blank.

They do (they use a Barclays account). Have a look at the link I posted.

That information is for making a deposit, as you have said in your post.

The OP is transferring out of the ISA, i.e. making a withdrawal.

Having that sort code and account number there is unlikely to do any harm, but it certainly won't be used in the process.

It is only the Cheshire account number that is needed.

I agree. These forms always ask for more information than needed. It won't do any harm using the sort code/account number/roll number though.
  • Phoned and spoke to a Cheshire customer service agent and was given sort code 20-53-77

They also advised that if the bank I am transferring into doesn't accept 9 digit account numbers the account number can be used as a roll number (I've never heard the term roll number before!) and that will be fine.
