Nokia 6310I repair or replace?

I have a Nokia 6310i which I use for business, I also have a built in car kit which interupts the phone and charges the battery etc. It is out of warranty and not insured.

My phone has developed an intermitant fault, it always works fine in the car cradle but sometimes I can't hear people although they can hear me when I am not on hands free. It works fine when using an earpiece too so I think the problem is the built in microphone and/or speaker.

I don't want to spend a fortune because I'm getting a new car in a couple of months and I hate using an earpiece for more than a few minutes but I would appreciate some advice on my options:

:question:So the question is:

1 Anyone know where I can get my phone repaired quickly and cheaply ? (Manchester, Lancashire, West Yorks)

2 Is there another Nokia phone which has the same connections for hands free kit?

Thanks in advance. :)

There are adaptors for your carkit (CK-9P?) to use a Nokia Pop-port, which are standard on most Nokias now. But it's about £50, so probably not worth it & I can't think of any other phones that will fit in your cradle. Perhaps it's worth getting a 6210/6310 from eBay?

sounds like the speaker (mic is fine as they can hear you)
it may be youve dropped the phone and so it bent the speaker contacts a bit? try opening to check (also clean the contacts on pcb and speaker)
i havent got one lying around or you could have it, but they are quite cheap
there is one here on ebay

just check with the seller it is the right one because im sure 6310 is a round one - that one looks like 6230 - but he may be just using the same pic
easy to change, you just need a T6 screwdriver (which the same person is selling as well) or try your nearest hardware store or i can send you one for a couple of quid

I am so happy, I have used the info provided by drahcir, :Awe even had the right screwdriver, tightened up all the connections, the vibration bit was loose. Now it works fine except for vibrate but I can live without it. It's actually a lot clearer than it was before so thanks again:j
