Vodafone problem with NUC unlock code

Help please!! I'm 63 and not very technically minded. I need help getting unlock code for my Nokia C3-00. I was with Vodafone on Pay As You Go until a couple of weeks ago. The phone was purchased a couple of years ago from a Vodafone shop with their PAYG sim. I have changed over to Virgin Mobile pay monthly but neither Carphone Warehouse or the local Vodafone shop can manage to unlock my phone after inserting the Virgin sim or replacing original Vadafone sim. Also I wasn't able to access my account with Vodafone online to retrieve my rewardz which were over 1,550 points. The Vodafone shop said there were problems with the website but not to worry. The Vodafone shop sent a request through for me to nucresolutions at Vodafone and told me it would probably take up to 7 days to get the code. A week later I received a reply by email from nucresolutions saying:
We are unable to view your account details for the mobile number: 07900****** in our database. In that instance we will not be able to process the unlock request for your handset. Kindly contact your service provider or account manager to process this unlock request.

Take it to a market stall or independent phone retailer who offer an in-house unlocking service. Should not cost any more than £15.

You posted this question to another thread - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3051872 where a Vodafone person replied. Did you contact Vodafone as they asked?
  • I contacted them by email with all the information i.e IMEI code, date I purchased the phone etc which was Sept 2010 and they sent me back an email saying they want proof of purchase otherwise I will have to pay them £19.99!! They also asked for the IMEI code which I had already provided. I feel like tearing my hair out!!!

  • Hey,

I need to fly out to Cape Town on tuesday for work reasons, however my phone is locked to Vodafone. My company have given me a sim card to use while on my trip.

I was told in a VF Store that the unlock takes 3 working days, so submitted the NUC Request on the 31st July. Is there any way I can get this done any faster as I'm in a real rush for it to be done?

I have spent most of the evening on the phone to Vodafone members of staff (India based), trying to get this resolved, but as you'd guessed, no joy what-so-ever.

    Many thanks.

Get your company to give you a suitable phone, take your phone to a marklet stall and charge the company the fee, or buy a cheap PAYG handset on the right network when you get there.

You really have 2 days, today and Monday, due to the weekend so an unlock may not happen.
