Butterfly Brain - I would not get me started on my views of Job Seekers. I think all the people taking this free money should be given a job to the value of there benefit @ £6.18 per hour in servicing the town. The library, community centre, cleaning, gardening - the public area's of flowers should be made over for growing vegetables for food. Those that do not turn up should not get the free money. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0

Oh dear that is where you and I must agree to differ. It is NOT FREE money it has been paid for in NI, by themselves or their parents, this money was guaranteed when they couldn't find work, but this vile government have used nazi style propaganda to vilify those who find themselves jobless there are over 2.5 million unemployed and only 500,000 jobs (government figures) and that is not counting the sick and disabled being forced into these vile workfare schemes. As I see it the scroungers here are Homebase and other companies like them who are treating the jobless as their own personal slave force.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

FS glad yesterday went as well as it could, I insisted my dad and OH would be seen by nobody after their deaths, people remember them for who they were, not what the undertakers made them up to look like, plus neither had an easy passing.
Well, MRI scan decluttered, just need to wait for the results, am still putting ideas into my head about why he got the appointment so quickly, and at the West of Scotland Cancer Centre, but will try not to agitate myself! Made a batch of beef olives with haggis instead of sausage meat before we went, and they are in the SC with carrot, turnip and onions in stock, we will have mash too so that's dinner sorted, DD wont be in till after 7 so hers can be heated in the microwave. Got 3 loads of washing almost dry, it was spitting rain before we left so brought it in so is now on radiators and airers to finish off, what a difference, its soft and smells lovely!
Right, off to peel some spuds, enjoy your evening!RIP Iain

FOREVER SAVING, Just caught up on the past posts and had to say I think you chose right in not veiwing. I did see my Dad after the undertakers had done some work on him, he looked like Brian Blessed in drag, he had so much makeup on. I can smile now but I was furious at the time I stated "My Dad's never worn makeup in his bloody life and he's not bloody startin now!"
I can't get the image of my darling Brother out of my mind, I had to identify him before the u/takers could make him look presentable, in a way I'm glad I did because I was able to stop any family seeing him and having that lasting image in their head.
Take care.0 -

Well said, Butterfly. I don't normally get involved in "discussions" but this is something close to my heart; I'd love to be well enough to work again - sadly, that's not going to happen in this lifetime. I'm not on disability money for fun!:( And when Mr LW was out of work, bless him, he spent hours and hours scouring the job websites, applying for everything that was remotely suitable for him - he applied for over 300 jobs in the 11-month period, let alone the ones he read all the blurb for but were not within his scope. He would have been unable to devote all that time and energy to finding a decent job if he'd had to spend 30 hours a week stacking shelves in a supermarket for his bread-and-butter. And of course at that time there were an awful lot of IT techies seeking work, because the Government of the day's IR35 had knocked the bottom out of being an IT contractor.Butterfly_Brain wrote: »Oh dear that is where you and I must agree to differ. Evening all,
Hope your all ok. I've dried my first load of washing outside this year:j:j:j
It's been glorious here today, long may it continue. Dh and I went to the local, much cheaper garden centre and picked up some salad leaves, more carrots, peppers and some begonias and sweet peas. We've tried to think of veg that we eat a lot of and will be the most cost effective. We eat salad with peppers at least twice a week.
Hopefully the seeds we have already grown on the windowsill will do well as well, including bedding plants, courgettes, onions, broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower.
We love growing veg but I don't want to have to throw anything away.
Tomorrow will visit Bents and enjoy looking but not buying. It's soo expensive but gorgeous. I find it gives me good ideas for crafting and making bits and bobs.
I've been watching how to videos on you tube this afternoon as my crochet is very basic. I am dying to make something for the new baby but I'm a bit fed up wi knitting and need a change.
Plan to spend the evening having a go at crochet coasters, we do need some for the back room. If they work I shall have a bash at a baby cardigan in crochet. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Hoping to watch the Swedish drama at 9.00 which we both usually enjoy.
Take care, have a good evening xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Jools - try not to worry. Often the scans are run on Saturday and at scanners with available capacity in order to make the scanners cost effective as they are very expensive pieces of kit. I have had three scans now on a Saturday and all for the reason I stated xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

            Evening all,
Still very cold here, heating still on most of the day, even with living room fire.
OH cooked a huge brunch at 11.00...liver, bacon, tomatoes, onion, fried bread and chips...he likes to eat late in the morning and has got me into the habit now most of the time, I normally prefer something like porridge when I get up, lunch and dinner, but to-day we were invited to brother's for dinner so just had 2 meals...home at 9 and OH went straight to bed.
Did very little to-day, mostly tidying as there seems to be lots of stuff around that needs to be held on to for one reason or another, some of it is for DDIL and some for DD4 so must dispose of it to them asap.
Halight....hope that you are feeling better, maybe just keep on with the things you have already sown so as not to give yourself too much hassle.
Hugs to all in need or want of one, stay safe and keep warm all.
