Id blow it all on a massive holiday where Id plan to see as many things as I could before they go extinct, such as polar bears, orangutans, polar ice caps, rainforests, etc etc...
plus a healthy amount of beer and chicken along the way"Control your money, dont let your money control you" - Easier said than done!
Virgin Credit Card = [strike]£2000[/strike] £1800
Student Loan = [strike]£3800[/strike] £36000 -
If you think that this thread is depressing, my thread would have to read "what would you do with £55,000 if you weren't in debt?"
Now that really is depressing.....
With that, I could buy a holiday home in France.....:eek:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
i'd buy a beach hut on Portland. They overlook where the 2012 Olympics are going to hold the sailing. I think they will be worth loads by then.

It would have to go on a newish car, ours is on its last legs.
If there was any money left, I would buy a plane ticket to Canada and go visit my best friend. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Good idea. I am about to put my flat in Weymouth on the market and lots of "wise" people keep telling me I should keep hold of it until the Olympics because it will be worth more    it drives me mad... I am selling so I can buy a house with my OH and then start planning a wedding..... the blinkin' Olympics aren't the answer to everything!!!
Rant over... and breathe....
Ooh. just had an idea... If I had £1000 from everyone who told me to keep the flat then I could buy that beach hut and decorate it in gold leaf... extravagent? me?Debt free date - June 2008 :T :T :T0 -
On the original topic of what I'd do if I had a spare £15,000:
I would take half a year off work and write a novel0 -
What a cheery signature :rotfl:
We're all off to hell too then I guess....that was never on the sky agreement0 -
£15k.
mmmm.
Having changed my attitudes to spending I have since my LBM taken the LCDs from the kids bedrooms, stopped the 5yo from smoking too much and cancelled the sky "babysitter" for the toddler.
I think that I would actually save it. I have everything sorted now (to a point) and don't really need anything. I would like to save a big massive pot for OH and I to go travelling around the world when the kids have finally left home.
It would be great to have enough in the bank to purchase a car when the current ones conk out.0 -
