Mobile Data Sims in Egypt

Hi,

My wife and I are planning on returning to Egypt soon(ish) and I'd love to get a PAYG data sim for there. There are loads of shops selling sims but with no data AFAIK... we were told by locals that the only data packages are on contract.

    Hogwash!
    I am in Dahab right now using a payg SIM bought in a local shop.
    Mine is Vodafone Egypt, I top-up with 3GB which expires in a month and costs LE100 (Around £10).
    I already had the SIM and dongle. If you need to buy the SIM, I think it's about LE60, don't know how much a dongle is out here but maybe you're just going to put it in a smartphone.

    Orascom should have data allowance on there Payg
