I use Tesco basics and I've never had one split, even with a 60kg dog.
If it looks like a 'difficult' pile, I tend to use two bags together for extra strength. I've never had one split, but then again my dogs are raw fed so their poos are generally small, solid and easy to pick up.

    Ditto both these points :)

Morribunds value nappy sacks are 12p for 100. Best value I've been able to find.

I find if I wait till National Dog Turd Week (or whatever it's called) the local dog wardens are out almost everywhere giving out free mountains of poo bags and I can get a couple of months' supply that way! And they're like the Rolls Royce of poo bags - huge, thick and luxurious.

Our local council provides them free. Probably because there's SUCH a problem with dog fouling round here  The wardens are always out and about but all it takes is a couple of disgusting cretins walking the same route every day for the mess to build up.

Check your local community centres and ask for some if they haven't got them. All it takes is a phone call to the local council if they're available. We just had a fete at the weekend and I think the Community support officer guys were there. Or it could have been the wardens. I was busy :o They had lots of freebies like pens and poo bags.
'til the end of the line
