Wonga confusion!? HELP!!

What to do -
Phone them as soon as possible. E-mails tend to be brushed away by companies and they'll claim that you didn't contact them.
As it stands right now something has gone wrong, maybe the plan isnt due to start yet, or maybe they had an issue with their systems and that's why the payment wasn't taken.
However, if it was due then you have defaulted and will have to rectify this as soon as possible.
Also, are you paid weekly? I imagine you're paid more than £42, so as soon as you're paid, pay them back.
On your bank account though, there sould be a direct debit for wonga. That doesn't mean that money will be taken on a certain day every so often, it is used for them to be able to take money from your account. If that is cancelled then you have breached the terms of the credit agreement and will have to set a new one up.
Also, with the payment date, if they said they would take the money on the 1st of the month. That essentially means "You have to be ready for us to take that on the 1st". After the 1st that money should still be there and they can take it whenever they like.
I do hope it gets sorted out ASAP and that you stop taking credit, especially from payday lenders.0 -
Normally, when companies first set-up Direct Debit's (DD's) it can take a week or two for them to process it. This may mean that your first payment is actually delayed, and is not on the first working day.
However, most 'Quick-Loan' companies prefer continous payment authorities from your debit card. This normally means that it should only take a couple of minutes for them to set up/authorize.
However, when wording these payment schedules, it will normally say something such as ' Due on: XX/XX/2013 or after). This allows them to accommodate for bank holidays, clearing delays, e.c.t,
For example: I pay a subscription via my debit card that is due to come of on 26th of every month, but it only left my account yesterday.
This said, I never (fortunately) used a Quick Short Term loan company, so if there practices are the same.
I hope this helps in your situation I would recommend that you contact Wonga.Com to try to sort this out, preferably by phone, since they may take a while to reply via e-mail and they might not want to discuss any sensitive details via this method.Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0
