The direct debit wasnt for wonga, this was taken at a later date. wonga was supposed to take their money last friday, didnt, i waited until wednesday then used this money for something else, probably silly of me but they had already broken the agreement so i thought id just email them and take it from there but had no reply. theyve done something with my account because the interest hasnt re started which is whats so confusing. Ive asked them to take it from next month instead on the agreed dates, and theyve not tried to take any unauthorised money since i defaulted up until now - touch wood. I just dont know what to do with my bank account and cant do anything until they reply?0

I should also mention the payment plan doesnt show when i log in, although interest is frozen as i check it every day0

Can we take a wild punt at why you are in a payment plan with them?
Because you defaulted on your loan? It's crazy that you consider wonga are the ones who are breaking the repayment plan.
It doesn't matter when they take the money, even if it is a few days late, as long as the interest is frozen and you repay the same amount.
It is irksome reading your words of "unauthorised money"
You are lucky you are dealing with Wonga, most of the rest of them would have cancelled the payment plan completely, ramped back up the interest and piled a load of fees on top too.
You have already bitten the hand which fed you, now you are expecting a free month which you have awarded yourself.0 -
That isnt what im saying AT all. The whole point of setting up the dates is so the money is there, if they are going to take it whenever they please, whats the point in setting up the plan? Yes ive broken the 'agreement' because they didnt take the money or even attempt to! there is no mention of any payment plan when i log into my account. However i do have email proof of this being setup and accepted. Surely if i had broken my agreement they would of re started the interest and charges! Technically it is unauthorised money, the date is there for a reason, no one minds a day or 2 after whats agreed but not a week as im now clueless to whats going on and when they are going to take it! Im not expecting a free month, they have done that, i emailed them as a back up0

Just for the record i didnt default the plan was agreed BEFORE i defaulted. yay me0

Just to put it out there, technically Good Friday was a bank holiday, so that might have messed things up, but the direct debit should have come out on Tuesday and you're saying it didn't so clearly something has gone wrong somewhere.0

Thats what i was thinking, i assumed they would try again monday/tuesday, but didnt. If i was irresponsible i wouldnt be posting on here i just dont want them taking my wage tomorrow when thats for other bills, as the date agreed with them i had not much else going out that week. this week i do! hense why i agreed that date with them and it is not ok for them to take it whenever they see fit.0

You defaulted on your ORIGINAL agreement with Wonga when you didn't pay the money back as agreed but set up a payment plan. Now you have taken steps to stop them from taking the money that you have agreed to pay them to resolve the default.0 -

It doesn't quite work like that. You defaulted on the agreement made to repay your loan, in full, on the date agreed when the loan was issued. Of course, like so many before you, the reason you had to default was not your fault. The disasters that befall people in a short period of time is staggering. Job losses (with no pay owing), appliances breaking down, people being rushed to hospital, people suddenly being demoted to part time employees...). The interesting thing to note though, is that it is never their fault. Ever.
You've set up a payment plan. Wonga failed to take the money on the date agreed and you gave it less than a week before spending their money. I suspect you thought, yippee free money and spent it. Now you are panicking. No one on here can tell you what Wonga are doing or when they might take another payment. I'd suggest you put their money back into your account, along with future payments and sit tight.0 -
What I don't get is that you had the money waiting in your account for Wonga to take out per your agreed re-payment plan but when they didn't take it you went and spent it?
I had a re-payment plan about two years ago with them and I made sure the money was in my account the day before. I have never ever heard of them doing a repayment plan via Direct Debit EVER. It is always with a CPA from your debit card.
I have said time and again the best way is to phone them because they always make sure to send you an e-mail of updated changes to your plan if they need to make anyway. They do this for cases like this where the person thought "oh Wonga didn't take the money so I will use it then on something else."
Think how many e-mails they get a day from people in your situation as well, is it any wonder it can take a while to reply to them.
RING THEM."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."
