T Mobile - Somebody please help!!

Options
I had a letter today from T Mobile stating that in 2002 i had a contract which ran out thru the 12 months, they say i upgraded my phone then cancelled. And now they want to charge me £497 for the cancelled contract.

Now i had a contract, but i was 17 at the time and the phone shop (A Link) forged my DOB on the form. i didnt realise this till some years later when i was throwing the paperwork away. At the time they just said they had a special arrangement with T Mobile for people who were almost 18 as long as they had guardian as a financial back up. Being 17 and fairly stupid at the time i didnt realise i was doing anything wrong.

Anyway the point is i had the 12 months contract and paid all the bills in full as i am aware of, i cancelled my contract when a £300 bill landed on the mat after them telling me i was capped at £90, but because i had paid on time they had lifted this. My mum paid this for me and i cancelled it. I am pretty sure i never had an upgrade as i had kept my PAYG mobile as a back up for when i went over my bill limit, so i just carried on using that solely when i cancelled.

I have now had a T Mobile contract with them since June 2006, and its only now they are writing to me about this previous account.

Please can someone advise me on what to do!!!

Christine:confused:

It's been a day or two so I hope you've managed to sort it out, but if you haven't then I'd suggest that the first thing you do is to give t-mobile a call and find out what phone you upgraded to. Perhaps it slipped your memory?

When you cancelled your contract with T-Mobile they should have sent you a letter stating this? Perhaps this letter mentions an outstanding balance?
