HSBC's online banking is one of the best around, if not THE best. Not exactly sure what's supposed to be wrong with it.

Their app is useless and you cannot download your statements in a pdf format but if you feel it's the best around I'm very pleased for you

Maybe HSBC just don't want to pay Adobe for PDF generation server software.

Basic PDF is now an open standard. PDF files can be generated using open source tools, so no money needs to go to Adobe :money:

Ive had a basic account with hsbc for a few years now and still have the regular cash card, they did send a letter a few months ago saying they are now giving visa debit cards instead but i still havent received mine.
did you have to ring up to get your old cashcard replaced with a debit card or was it automatically sent to you?

The letter you received would have said you will get a new card issued to you in the next 3 months. If you want to speed this up call HSBC or go into a branch and they can order you one
